Vortech is better from everything I have read but in saying that, if installing a vortech, say bye bye to your warranty. The JRSC though, there are some guys I know that have them and have had warranty work done on their cars. The vortech install is also alot more elaborate then the JRSC.

The JRSC is cheaper... I dunno.... I like VORTECH personally but there are all these horror stories all over the focus boards about vortech it seems (not that many but they are out there) and it seems that the JRSC seems to be a very solid unit.

I don't know what I would get, sucks to say but I would lean towards a turbo if it was me... sorry but I would. Some of the other FI guys on here will comment on this thread I am sure.

I could be wrong, but with any vortech focus app. you have to remove and then relocate your battery to your fender well. Personally, I'm not up for that. Since we're mainly comparing two non-aftercooled s/c's, I'd rather get a jrsc and then put a custom tune on that (as opposed to jr's nefarious 'black-box').

However, as tight as finances can be, I'd rather pay more money upfront, then have things go wrong and have to fix things and THEN upgrade later...

Is there a reason you're choosing to go non-after (inter?)cooled f/i?

Personally I would go non aftercooled Vortech. Reason being is that Unnaturally Aspirated is creating a FMIC for those that bought the non aftercooled Vortech. Word is the FMIC could yield more power then the Aftercooled design.
