has anyone put one of these piggy backs on your focus? does it work well on the precision kit...

I MUST KNOW THE ANSWERS! lol

no it will not work, no piggyback system will work on the focus. the computer is adaptive so it'll only be fooled by a piggyback system for about 10 minutes, and then it'll start correcting the A/F ratio based on sensor readings. only a full standalone system or a reflash/chip can retune your focus

What about the Pro Racer Package from www.modulardepot.com? Is it worth it? Or would it be worth more for someone like me (not a professional tuner at all) to get the Xcaliber instead? Whats your opinions? Anybody got a turbocharged Zetec with either?

your best bet is either a diablo or SCT flasher, unless you plan on going all out on this car, in which case I recommend the pectel T2 kit for the focus

what do you mean "all out". Cause im currently have the same question about engine management. What is a good system for cheap. Or even a good system for a little extra cash. and besides EBAY where can these be found? (the more direct the link the better) thanks

focussport and mcnews sell the SCT, myfordperformance.com sells the diablo, so does Tom at focuspower.

I noticed that the mcnews site doesn't have the SCT flasher listed, but rest assured, they do have it. you can call them for details.

ok, now here's the difference between the SCT and the Diablo. the SCT is simply a module that holds up to three tunes, and saves your stock tune in case you need to revert back to stock for warranty purposes. the Diablo is also a code reader...so you can look at those annoying check engine lights without having to pay a shop $100 just to plug in a computer and tell you that you need to spend more money to fix it. the Diablo is also a datalogger, so if you get new mods, you can run the datalogger, and if you have the cable to hook it up to your computer, you can email the data to a tuner, such as tom, and he can write a new tune for you based one the info from the datalogging. then he can email the tune back to you, you can download it, and reflash your car.

as far as all out...I mean you're pulling the motor, putting a billet bottom end in, upgrading to a CGI WRC block, professionally stage 3 ported/polished cylinder head, an insane amount of boost, plus nitrous. you have a roll cage in your car, you drive around on slicks, and you've spent as much money on your suspension as you have on your motor. that's all out. the Pectel t2 is a kit designed for the focus, it comes with a new computer and wiring harness. you still use the stock computer for your car...it drives your dashboard and not much else. the engine is controlled by the pectel which is much more adjustable than the stock computer. most turbo zx3s running about 10 psi push around 180hp at the wheels. I know a guy who switched over to the pectel, and after tuning, he made around 195hp at the wheels on 7psi. the pectel kit can be had for around $2000, and the software is so user friendly that you don't have to be a professional tuner to get a good tune. the software allows you to datalog, so if you have a wideband O2 sensor and an EGT gauge, you can tune the car yourself pretty decently.
