Hey everyone first time here. Im the proud owner of a 2002 lx sedan. I have a couple of questions. The first one; I did'nt know if to post in the suspension colum but it seems everything there is made for zetec. So I hope I can get help here. Here goes can the SVT FOCUS SUSPENSION KIT work on my ride. Second, what kind of disk brakes are best suitible for this car my budget is about a thousand bucks. And would like to have money left for other mods.

yes the SVT suspension will work on your car, they will work on all model foci unless its a wagon.
Im assuming you are asking about the disc brakes that would replace the rear drums. Its very costly and really isnt worth the upgrade unless you really want to track the car, or want a show car.
I'd just stick with the suspension, then get intake exhaust and maybe a short throw shifter (if you have a MTX).

Wait now, they have a short throw shifter out there for the IB5 Tranny (SPI tranny), now if you have the LX, that's the base model foci, so, you most likely have an SPI and the IB5 transmission.. go to this website and look around, you'll find a short throw for the IB5 tranny. Soon as I get the greens I'm gonna get on myself :) http://www.focus-central.com/

I can hook you up with a guy in Michigan who will get you the whole disc setup for about $250 plus shipping. And by the whole setup I mean the WHOLE setup.
Go with the SVT setup, too. You'll love it. You'll get a subtle drop, too.
Welcome to FF, nooB!![8D]

If you are on a budget. The svt suspension is the way to go.

Thanks for all the replies boys. I really appreciate it I think I will go with the svt suspention hopefully I can find a shop that will install it cheap. Now about that guy in Michigan; waterboy how can I go about getting the whole set up of disk brakes and what kind are they. I was looking into the baer line of cross drilled disks. But, if this guy has good stuff lets take a look.

contact Dan or his wife at: email@example.com.
He sells Focus parts from Foci that are wrecked. I have seen everything from SVT's to Konas in various stages of parting out. His prices are good and the service is great. Tell them that I (Jim) sent you and you'll get treated right. The disc setup is an OEM set from an SVT or one of the few disc setup cars that were out there. He'll get you everything you'll need for the swap, right down to the bolts and brackets. I'd bet he'd work on shipping with you if you bought the SVT suspension goodies from him. Get the rear sway bar and mounting brackets, too. The stock front bar is good enough, unless you're going for an all-out rally car.

Thanks waterboy. This sounds like a great deal I think I will drop him a letter and see what he can work out with me. Do you think the SVT disk brakes will work on my lx sedan? If so im going for it.

I can't say for sure. Dan would know for sure, he'll get you what you need. He won't sell stuff just to make a sale. He's in it for the long haul.

Waterboy, you think he would have a back suspension piece with the antiroll bar brackets on it? Do you know what I mean? Because the LX doesn't have the brackets for the anti roll bar in the back suspension, you think he might have something like that? :\

I guess that would all depend. What I mean is that the early sedans had the mounts for the brackets, but the later 2k^ didn't. To add a sway bar to the rear of a non-bracketed car would either involve changing the rear axle or welding. I don't recommend welding to a suspension part at all. Now if you have the earlier sedan like mine, all you need are the mounting hardware and the sway bar. Be careful not to go with the SVT bar, as it is too large and will make your car want to spin in snow or wet roads. I have a stock ZX3 bar on mine and love it. I also upgraded to the urethane bushings from New Edge performance (www.newedge.com).
If you have the earlier sedan, dan should have everything you need.

Dan was asking $200 for EVERYTHING to do the brake conversion when I saw him this summer.
Dan is in Michigan, near Dorr.
Thanks for the props, but there's a-lot of guys here who know just as much.

alright jim. which is it. u put down 2 different emails for this dan fellow.
is the rear disc conversion worth it? 200 sounds like a sweet deal, amd would complement my batinc front set up nicely.
also i have the sway from an 03 zx3 and i have an 01 sedan. what are the chances i have the holes for the bracket? i dunno what to look for where. and if i do have the set up, can ur bud dan get me the brackets? i have the bushings from new edge, grease, and the bar with the stock endlinks.
also jim, what strut tower brace do u have. if the swaqy is a no go i would still like to stiffin up the front.

OOps! Sorry. His e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org. Yes, he can get you anything you will need. He parts out wrecked Foci, so any OEM part he can get. He's the guy I'm going to buy my ZX3 shell from for my little project. I trust him completely. Knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. During the week he works long hours, so his wife may be doing the replies. During the weekend he's at home running his ebay business of Focus and Escort parts.
Look at your rear axle. If you have a bracket on each side of your axle with two holes in it, you probably have the bracket you need for the sway bar.elded vertically about 12" in from the brake housing on each side. It will have two threaded holes in it, one above the other. If you can't get the parts rapidly from Dan, the dealer can get them for you and they're relatively cheap.
I run a FocusSport (Because I'm Randys ho), stress bar on the front. I bought a "blemished" one and damned if I can find one. It WAS yellow. Since I bought it it has been three other colors since. I love paint fumes, what can I say??

saweet. so buy a blemish/ sale item from focus sport. damn u 4 paintin. i want a yellow one. i will jump on that. thnx.
