This is a question to all ATX racers, have you ever had any tranny trouble if yes what was it and what did you do to fix it and if not how do you prevent destroying your tranny by racing? I am not a big racer but I do give the focus hell from time to time and for a long time I have been fighting a slip with the help of lucas. So any success stories of how to overcome this bump in the road would be a great help.

Now I have almost all the bolt-ons, plus a few tricks, and I have a relatively unmolested autotragic. I run a second OEM tranny cooler just behind the upper grille, and B&M Trick Shift. I also rev to 7200 before I shift ( I autostick like a mofo), and have my SCT chip programmed for harder shifts. Heat is what kills trannys more than anything. The only thing I have had an issue with is my shift selector sensor took a poop. I replaced it (not a job for a nooB), and all is well.

so how hard is it to install a second cooler and do you think it would make a helpful diffrence since I realy dont race much, and about the slip it only does it when down shifting and shifting into second gear maybe you know what the problem is so the tranny repair place does not try to rip me off.

Hey I was looking at level ten .com and saw that auto to manual conversion chip is that what you have waterboy if yes how much was it. I realy like the sound of being able to shift when I want, also any pros and cons to the upgrade?

focusin: No special tricks or anything, just a click of the shifter and that's it.
The second tranny cooler is a cinch: I just removed the upper grille, buzzed off a LITTLE of the grille mounts a bit (it's a trial fit and cut kinda deal), then slid the cooler in front of the radiator. Took the top line off the lower cooler and put on the top cooler. Then I looped the lower line from the top cooler into the top line of the lower cooler. Clear as mud, right? I got my OEM cooler off Evilbay for like $15. It's pretty easy to do and takes about 1/2 qt. more fluid than stock.

Looks like this when it's done. I'd take another pic for you, but the intercooler is in the way.
