Hi all, I'm a new member to this forum and proud owner of a 2002 Ford Focus ZTW. I have done some performance upgrades like, CAI, took the resonater and stock muffler off and put a magnaflow muffler on, MSD coil, MSD wires, Denso plugs. I am looking to buy the SCT SF3 programmer and looked up some reviews and found mostly positive reviews but mostly on other cars and trucks not much found on the focus's, has anyone tried one of these and is it worth while?

Welcome to the forum [welcome] [ffrocks] [loveff]
Moved your thread to the ECU tuning chat area for more answers.
The SF3 is an older flasher, the Xcal3 is the newer one that would you would want. Not saying the SF3 is bad it's just older. I'm sure others will chime in with more info. You also want to make sure it's not locked and married to a car already if your buying a used one. It's 150 bucks to get it unlocked from SCT and then at least another 150 for a tune. For that much your just better off buying a new one from a tuner.

I am looking at buying new, and when I buy one of these programmers I take it they don't come pre loaded with tunes I would have to order it according to my car specs?, I'm new at this programmer stuff and still learning about performance tuning.

Yes, it will come with a tune based on your car, what you have done to it and what you want done (like 91 octane vs 93 and a bunch of other parameters you can chose from.) From there, you can data log and they will be able to update the tune remotely based on what your logs say.

You can buy the sct xcal 3015 that comes with pre loaded cookie cutter tunes
You can buy the sct xcal 3000 that comes with no preloaded cookie cutter tunes but your tuner can load custom tunes to
Both have end user adjustability
I sell the xcal3 for 399.00 and 20.00 for shipping , you get the full custom tune , free tune updates as you add more NA mods and my datalogging services as well as my help with any issues
