we are also looking at an 05 ZX5 to buy. Anybody have anything to tell us about it. I will take any information (good/bad). Also have a teenage daughter coming up on driving. Would this be a good car for her to learn and drive in? How about safety? Thanks everbody. Brad

Not sure about the 05 ZX5 but I have an 03 ZX5, had it for about 18 months. Very happy with it, rides and drives very well, decent amount of room, good gas mileage (usually around 30MPG) and to date I have had no problems what-so-ever. I believe it would be a good car for your daughter to learn with. I may be wrong on the 03 and it may be too early on the 05 but if I remember correctly they did fairly well on the government crash test but you may want to verify that further, I know there are places on line that will supply that info. Good luck with your decision.

From what I remember the ZX's had pretty good crash results. The weak spot was the side impact in the rear seats. If you go with the side curtain air bags that should make it "safer". As far as getting hit by a Sub.; given the choice I would rather be in the Sub.

easiest car i've driven yet. of course, that's coming from a good history of truck ownership. good car. only concern i would have is the room. don't know how big your family is, but we definetely couldn't fit mine in a focus! other than that, good to go!
