: No School today, so I bought wheels and tires.

Left work today to go to school (as I usually do) then realized when I got to an empty parking lot, that school was canceled. Having nothing to do, I went to Discount Tires and finally pulled the trigger on getting some wheels and tires. Logical, right? They pricematched some Sparco Terra's for me, and gave me a screamin deal on some tires too all with 0% 9 month financing. I forget which tires, but I'll find the receipt later. The manager (who I was dealing with) said that they're some of the best all season tires they offer, with a 60k mile warranty.

DEAR. GOD. LET. FRIDAY. COME. NOW. I can NOT wait to finally have wheels worthy of my car!!! They're replacing the stock steel wheels... [shhh]

OH. MY GOD. I am so jealous of you right now. I want those wheels so bad. I'm subscribing because I demand you post pics! I'm almost as exited I think to finally see these on a focus, blue at that.

A set of rally armor mudflaps would really set it off to if you don't already have some.

I have Sparco wheels and I think you'll be really happy with them.

I was driving around a misshapen round-about one day and cut the inner curb too close. BANG, the tail kicked out. Hit the rim on the curb.

I got out to inspect the damage. I could tell where the rim hit because the tire was chewed up at that spot. I wiped off some grit on the wheel, and remarkably, there was not a scratch on them.

Your decision making today seems perfectly logical. What did you pay when all was said and done?

sweet. That's a good price. Let us know about what tires you bought because I am still shopping for some good all season tires with a good warranty.

And did you says size for your rims?

I got the Yokohama YK580's. There was a really good rebate on them, and the gentleman at Discount Tire said they were some of the best tires they carried. Looking at the website, it looks like the only speed rating they have in 16's (what I have) is H... Which is a bit of a bummer. I shoulda asked beforehand, but oh well. So far, the ride is a crapload smoother and, oddly enough, my brakes haven't squealed once since I've put them on [scratch]. Also, seems to handle better, but this probably has more to do with the fact that my tires should have been replced 10k miles ago, according to the tech who installed them. Oops!

I had the YK520s which were replaced with the YK580s on my Altima. Loved those tires, smooth ride, quiet, gripped decently for an A/S, my only gripe was wet weather traction. The replacement happened because they improved specifically that in the 580.
