LastRites 11-14-2004, 09:41 AM I hate it! The SVT has been garaged since Thursday waiting on snow tires to get mounted. What is cool is that I've been having a blast in the truck. Last night it was coming down hard so I went out to play. Nothing like rear wheel drive in the snow for throwing down on the brodies and even some seriously styled drifting. The tires that came on the truck stock, BFG Long Trails, suck very bad so I'm looking forward to wearing them out soon and throwing on the A/T's.

KesTrel 11-14-2004, 09:56 AM Yay snow ;)
Erm I mean.... Yeah evil snow ;)
Sublime 11-14-2004, 11:50 AM I had the same thing, Nissan wise, before the Focus only mine was the Hard Body Style. I had to get rid of her because she was a stick. It was a blast in Ft Drum, NY
EuroZX3 11-14-2004, 12:27 PM thats weird you guys got snow way down there. we didnt get anything, it wasnt even that cold. that picture makes me cold though!
Lil_RedZX3 11-14-2004, 12:39 PM It's too early to be thinking about snow!
d3bilhan 11-14-2004, 01:27 PM I miss driving in the snow. When I lived in Colorado, the first thing I would do after a snow was go out and drive around and laugh at people getting stuck. (I know that was bad)
Lil PZEV 11-14-2004, 02:14 PM We were supposed to get a "dusting" over Friday afternoon...
We ended up with at least 4" by the time I woke up Sat. morning! Yeah New England!
As I was trying to back the Focus out of the driveway an interesting phenomenon occured though with my directional tires. The wheels spun and these weird snow pellets came shooting out the front like a machine gun! They were about an inch long and almost cylinder shaped, there had to be thousands from the front wheels!
That was amusing and the car got out... now I guess it's time to switch to my winter set.[:)~]
SVT4ME 11-14-2004, 02:43 PM What is this "snow" you speak of?? [8D]
budzen 11-14-2004, 03:01 PM damn.. i had a LOT of fun with my Focus earlier this year in teh winter w00t
LastRites 11-14-2004, 03:18 PM You can't whip a proper brodie with the front wheel drive. Besides, the truck has all that longness and it twirls [:D]
bowersdaazian 11-14-2004, 03:37 PM i know exactly what you mean. Taking my nissan up to the snow was the best, always looking for places to drift or do doughnuts. those were the days...

Silver03SVT 11-14-2004, 09:08 PM You in Colorado Springs? Gawd I loved that place. Lived there for 4 1/2 years at Fort Carson.
focuson03 11-14-2004, 09:12 PM i love doing doughnuts, had tons of fun in my old wrangler. the best is when the front corner tire doesn't move [thumb]

Yup, it's been a great place. This past summer has been trying with the hail storms and all. Looks like this year will be insane for snowfall too. Awesome mountain biking, pretty much why I wanted to move here.

Yeah, I used to go offroading up on Goldcamp road and Pikes Peak national forest behind Cheyanne mountain. I hiked Pikes Peak back in late '99 took 7 hours and 20 minutes. What do you do for a living out there? Im getting ready to get out of the Army in about 6-8 months and would love to move back there. Figures about the snowfall, 1997 and 1998 were the only good snowfalls during my time there.

For Cali members,
Snow is a white crystalline powder that has no narcotic effects when snorted or injected, and should not be eaten when yellow.
Chick 11-15-2004, 01:25 PM ^^LMFAO

I like to do that too, but I stay in the first time it snows... too many idiots out driving around that think they can stop instantly and turn on a dime... It was fun pulling them out of ditches![;)]

I think i'll have to take it really slow and then laugh at all the dumb people.

Man I'm sorry for not responding sooner. I'm on the last leg of a 12 year Army stint, down to three months left. I've actually ran Pikes Peak, Barr Trail, from start to finish 6 times in 4 years. Cheyenne Canyon is a blast, I do alot of mountain biking up there, the Chutes, Captain Jacks, Buckhorn. I love the Springs save for some nasty weather this year. Lots of jobs still out here too so if you had an eye towards coming back this way that's something to keep in mind.
~Later!
