: Adjust rear drum brakes?

How are the rear drum brakes on an 07 adjusted? Thanks

They adjust them selves but when reinstalling you must make sure that you adjust them out enough to grab onto the drum then they will auto adjust from there. Oh and just go in reverse and hit the brakes that's how they work. They won't adjust going forward.

Nope! Our cars dont have the star adjuster. Its a ratchet adjuster. Put everything together, pump the pedal hard once and hear it click. Adjusted!

Well with either adjuster I still adjust them out enough to drag on the drum a bit but not so much that I can't get the drum out. Then I hit the brakes and I go in reverse and do the same thing a couple of stops just to be sure. That's how I've always done it.

Thats probably just habit from doing drums with the start adjuster. I put them back together with no drag. Going in reverse has no affect on the adjustment like it does with star adjusters. Only thing I don't like about our set up is you cant adjust them down to easily pull the drum.

Probably, been doing it since I've been doing brake way back in the day. Oh and hate drums because of it lol
