: Bout to give up........
mofocus 11-13-2004, 11:21 PM closer and closer........im a chip away from boost and now THIS.......THIS damn thing is killin me, driving down the highway and the old faithful ! light comes on and the bastard loses power for a sec, ok i think what the heck, then it ran normal........little while later it does it again...........then again..............this is not the first problem this car has given me, and im sure it wont be the last. i really dont think ill ever see boost, not in this car anyway, im SICK of it, Ford is NO help, i have painted engine items so they throw that in myface if i ask for warranty work...........im seriously thinking of ending it all w/ this car and the boost and everything, getting from point A to B is more important right now than the BOOST..............any input, condolences, advice?[xx(]
mofocus 11-13-2004, 11:22 PM temp gauge reads "fine" in the middle btw
Sublime 11-14-2004, 07:40 AM Damn dude. Sorry. Did the Batt light come on at all and the guages flicker some?
Vassili95 11-14-2004, 09:06 AM Come on Greg. Use our FF precious resources.
We have a lot of members that can help you or at least try to help on the phone. Try hitting up Ray at McNews or even TTom for help. I'm not even talking about Jeff and Ed.
Plus a lot more people have boosted Foci on the Jet. Ask there.
Hope everything works out for you though.
Peace...
mofocus 11-15-2004, 12:23 PM well ive asked around and to no avail the problem still persists, im going to have to take it to Ford and bend over on this one i spose.......
drewzx3 11-15-2004, 12:42 PM dont give up....
mofocus 11-16-2004, 04:51 PM well ford finally threw the mods in my face BUT
they are saying now the waterpump bolts were coming out of the UDP and the waterpump will probably need to be replaced, they are saying this might not even the real problem w/ the failsafe cooling light.........blah my ulcers been flaring up like a mofo, im going to have to sell everything, fix this car and then i dont know what........
zx3focusguy 11-17-2004, 06:25 PM I mean this in the BEST possible way, but if this kind or predicament is something that is hard for you to handle, then a boosted focus will probably put you over the edge. I hate to see you sell all your shizit though.
Scott
focusonthefocus 11-17-2004, 06:37 PM you put more money in your car then I can ever dream of doing. Remember the reasons why you love to go fast. You've made a Ford Focus into mofocus's Focus. Your baby just needs some love. Simplify the matter. Something's not right, so find out how to fix it. Maybe you don't need Ford? Check out domestic wrenchs around your area. It will take time, but I'm willing to bet a Eibach Pro Kit that it will save you money. Just take it one step at a time and meet each challenge with logic and passion.
mofocus 11-17-2004, 09:04 PM yeah after going through a bunch of BS w/ Ford, i find the bolts have come out of my water pump pulley, and there is only one half way in there sorta-holding it in, so im ordering those and hoping thats all it was, i mean a water pump pulley+loose, and the "!" light seem to line up in logic to me, either way, i have changed priorities, and realized i dont need a boosted focus(yet) and that it would be best to let the $$ sit in my account and pay off the focus and just use it as point A-B car, thats really all i need, ive decided to keep all my exterior stuff for now, so wether that makes more of a ricer or not i dont know.....dont really care, i plan on getting some pics of it up though
talonk4 11-17-2004, 09:39 PM dude, seriously. i'm living vicariously through you. you don't need to go boost if you can't/don't want to spend the $, but you're my damn hero when it comes to championing the focus. stay the course of backing up the focus my man, even if you don't go boost. stay the course......
did my positive mental energy fill you with a need for action yet? oh.... damn. eh, it was worth a try. how about this: good luck man
focituner 11-17-2004, 10:10 PM Keep the faith buddy, I bet you it is something so simple that you just didn't give it a precautious thought. Keep the faith.
mofocus 11-17-2004, 11:53 PM ^it was hah, but regardless, like i said im keeping the car for adaily driver for now, going to pay it off and save save save at the same time, when its payed off ill either keep the focus as a toy and get another car, or i dunno what.........yet

When it's done with my payments, I should be out of college and it will def be my project car...:)
Peace...
Mustangfreak 11-18-2004, 12:48 PM I learned this lesson the hard way. Dont mod you daily driver. a few light mods are ok, but I wouldn't do too many. I modded my 85 GT and it was my DD and even with the new motor I had carb issues and other small tedious things that bothered me.
focusonthefocus 11-18-2004, 12:52 PM shoot. If you need to sell something off your car... shoot me a PM on price.

That is truth. I'll never mod an engine again, never listen to aftermarket suppliers, they simply lie to sell you poorly tested crap. Modern cars are designed too well to tolerate mods without starting a cascade of problems in reliability.
shakledzx3 11-18-2004, 05:51 PM it happened to my friend to he replaced the battery and then it never gave him the problem again also get the system re set
