you have to rivet those in...

Steeda makes a set for my Fusion that just screw into already-present holes in the underside of the hood.

They look like this:

I think this is what's on my car. I didn't buy them or install them.

Not sure how well they'd work on a heavy stock. I have a C/F one.

They work just as well on a stock hood.

I put the Redline struts on my 03 as soon as I got it new and they were still perfect when I sold it this summer. I waited maybe 6 months after I got an 08 for Redline to introduce the slightly different kit. Now I eagerly await a kit for my 2012. The kits are high quality and come with excellent instructions. A simple modification that makes it almost a pleasure to pop the hood.

It is a great mod. I want to do it this spring.

the 05-07's only use one strut too, the windshield washer reservoir is in the way on the passenger side.

The riveting part is what has kept me from getting them, just not sure of doing that myself.

Go to a major autoshow. They are usually there, and doing mobile installs. They are always at Carlisle. Prices are crazy thought. Like 100 or so bucks for the strut, and then another 20-30 for install if you want them to do it.

Only one-ok. I take it its a little strong than the set w/ a pr.
The riveting part is what has kept me from getting them, just not sure of doing that myself.Put some tape down then drill & the rivet gun is easy. The air ones work great too. I've rivet a ton of front plate brackets on cars & it really is easy. If you want= mock it up & drill the holes where it does, then go to a body shop & have them rivet on for you.

I've been eyeing this product for yrs now. I've always found something else to do instead. [thumb]
