We are doing a track night in San Antonio on Friday the 19th!!! We are taking the Dreamspeed focus crew Toms Saleen, Justins ST, James' Fucus and the Roush and a handfull of our other club cars! And hopefully by then Jason will be back in a focus!!!! Plan is to roll out that night from Austin around 530 so that the cars have time to cool down before we start to run. Would be cool to see some other foci out that night! More details to come.

True, but you have a little more funds than I have, plus if I go I'd have to drag the wife and kids along which equals more money. Thanks, Tom took a video of my car the last time we were at the track. I easily ran a 15.8. Now I have cams, SVT, and I'm sure a few other things that will surely net me a mid 15. Or that's what I'm hoping for. One of these days I'll finish the car up with the head work it badly needs. It's all I have left to do then it will basicly be a full n/a build. [burnout]

I have never run this Focus at the track, and I am hoping for a high 15. I ran my last Focus on an 1/8th mile (10.7) and this one should be better. We'll see.

If you drive it right with your mods, you should hit a mid 15 easy. With just an intake, exhaust and a drop (IIRC) my best was a 15.6 in my 05, but that was with all the seats out and such [driving]. I'm really interested what my 12' can do!

I'm keeping the seats in and my 17s with low profile tires aren't exactly ideal for the track. Thanks for the info, though. It is encouraging!

Well I definitely can't make it now. When the mount went it took out a few other things with it. I bent my exhaust and whacked the power steering rack something fierce as it's now leaking. Sorry guys, all funds are going into getting a car back on the road. Can't have two foci down at one time for too long ya know? Here is a pic of what happened to my mount. yeah the goal is around 7 and start racing about 730 or 8 so that the cars can have a cool down period. But it really depends on traffic. south austin can be unforgiving on a friday afternoon when you are trying to get somewhere.

So what were the times everyone ran? You can't really see them in the video's and so I wish I could have made it out. I did get my car back up and running great, just couldn't make it out due to money reasons, had to fix my car somehow lol

Best I ran was a 16.5, which isn't terrible seeing I am basically stock

Wow..that's...what I ran back in the day stock. A few mods and that time will drop. The duratec's love bolt on's unlike the zetec where we have to coax the hp out of them.

If I had of got my launches down, I probably would have knocked a couple tenths off...just spun 1st. It's been a long while since I've been to the track.

Don't worry about take off too much. I either spin, wheel hop, or hook. I broke parts wheel hopping before. So now I pretty much just take off with a slightly higher rpm than driving normal and I pretty much nail the launch though it's been over 3 yrs since I last been at the tack. Way too long IMO

Ya... the track prep in SA sucks. My car ran a 13.8 and i think Toms time was like a 14.5... Everyones times coulda been better if we were at a better track lol

Same thing happened to us when we went to a 1/8mi track here in Houston. The track prep sucked. That's why I like going to Baytown, super sticky track...sometimes lol

Thanks, guys. It's my 05 D20 with exhaust, CAI, tune, lowering springs (the blue car in the left lane). I missed 3rd in that race and he was having traction issues.

It was a good race. Your right about the torque the newer cars have... My best time pre-boost was 17.1 with a 2.5 inch manderal exhaust, ebay header, no cats, EGR delete, custom cold air intake and Toms Tune. His car only had a K&N filter!

I have to say I was really quite pleased with San Antonio Raceway for the most part. It was very clean, friendly and they kept the races moving fairly fast despite the long lines. The guys that are doing tech were so easy they pretty much just write your number on your car and let you through. Also this is the first time I've notice that a race track would let the drivers go down the strip with the windows down.

Even, huh? Lol. That track was pretty cool. We really should make this a monthly thing, or maybe quarterly. I am now at a crossroad with what to do with my car next. Turbo and done, or finish out the NA mod path (cams, head, header). It would be cool to turbo, but there is something about being near the top of the NA crowd that entices me. My wife actually said, "just turbo"!

Yeah doing this once a month or even quarter would be great. Now that it's getting colder that's even better.

Did you get 5th gear fixed Roland?

Ya, it ended up being that bolt that i replaced the roll pin with on the shifter mechanism. It backed out a bit and was keeping it from going into gear. I put a new stainless bolt and nut and then damaged the threads so the nut wont come loose lol... Feels alot better. I did notice my tranny oil was gold in color and it shouldnt be like that since the oil aint that old. I changed it anyway and I figured out that my syncros are bad so i need a tranny rebuild but its still driveable for right now.

Damn that sucks to hear..... i still got those parts we were talking about and an MTX-75 tranny too.... just sayin

Turned the boost up!!!! Oh darn!!! lol
