Ha, hotfocus you got caught reposting?? Tsk-tsk.

The accident is nasty, and as people on the forum hotfocus linked to pointed out, if the Porsche hadn't been there to "soften" the Ferrari's path, he would have slammed head on into the wall and possibly killed himself right then and there. So, being horribly burned isn't great but at least he ain't dead. The slow actions and general incompetence of the safety crew is frightening, though. I watched the video and I kept thinking "any moment now surely the safety crew will be roaring up and thowing something on that fire" and they didn't. Apparently the car burned for a minute and a half before someone pulled him out. The "aftermath" video shows when the crew finally arrived, and even then the safety guy basically just yanked the driver out of the car, threw him on the track, and went back to check out the car and talk to other safeties. Meanwhile the driver who was completely out of it, tried to stand up and fell back and hit his head (helmet still on, but damn) on the track.

Even though it is a repost(never saw the original post untill now), thats sad about the crash. I'm surprissed that he lived at all.
