I have a 2009 Focus SES Coupe and I need a bit more room, 4 doors but I still want a fun car and was wondering what I should do. I bought my '09 in December and it has 95k miles on the clock and I pay 400 a month. How much would I get it for in a trade? And how much down would I need to keep my payments at or below 400? I was hoping to get the ST3 package for the HIDs, but I can suffice and put them in later as aftermarket.

Check KBB for market value of your car and then look at various financing options at your bank or CC.

Edmunds.com is probably more accurate than kbb.

You are going to get hit big for 95k miles on an 2009. As for keeping a $400 payment you'll need to finance around $24,000 depending on rate and term.

Ok. I was thinking around December-January time was about when I will be making my purchase. By then I think I would have around 5-6,000 saved u for a down payment. And I missed a couple payments on my '09. Would my trade and $5,000 down raise my chances of getting that financed? Family's a-growin and two doors is a problem. If not, what would I need? I am hoping to have this financed by myself.

I just saw an ST2 going for $491 a month. the rule of thumb is that every $1000 down drops your payment about $20 a month. So I would say to plan on about $6k down.

Holy Hell, did you put absolutely nothing down? That is like a BMW or Mercedes-Benz payment. 95,000 miles? Got damn dude, you need to not drive as much. I drive 6,000 miles a year.

We got $10k for my wife's '09 SE with 33k on the odo when we traded it in May on our 2012. I doubt the dealer will give you much more than $5k.

Yeah. It was my first car and I wanted that specific one. I didn't have a trade and no down payment. I am surprised I even left with it at all. And actually, I do do a lot of driving, but I bought it with 74,000 miles on it already. Not to even mention my 5,000 + mile trip to California and back.
