From the genius that decides to scrap two entirely killer SVT products comes this little gem Clicky! (http://money.cnn.com/2004/11/05/pf/autos/shelby_suv/index.htm)
Thoughts?

$110,000......Righhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhht
Man Ford has got to get their act together here. Even I who used to bleed blue has switched to something better. I love the new Mustang but I think the rest of their models are lacking something. I still think killing off the SVT focus was a dumb idea and then the Lightning and then they release crap like this. Ughh.....

Seems to me Shelby Autos is the one putting it out, not Ford. Like the Saleen Mustangs, they start out in stock form and then the aftermarket does the mods.

Looks to be that you are correct. There is a black Saleen Mustang that I have been eyeballing at my dealer for a while. $ 50K [:0] . It just seems odd that albeit very choice vehicles, who can afford $100K Fords?

Ford just needs another SUV.
Also, would I rather have some hideous looking SUV or a Race car ?
Hmm . . .

Maybe Ford has decided to concentrate on facilitating outside companies like Shelby, Saleen, and Roush doing "special" vehicles. Roush has already brought out a replacement for the Lighting on the new F150.

Cars like this are what are known as hype models. They are made specifically to be among the elite ranks of a car-maker and to spark sales of that car-maker's normal crop. All SVTs are hype models, as they are made in limited numbers, and it is anticipated that they will help to sell regular cars.
If these are produced, you wont see many more of these on the road than you do Ford GTs.
