: S/C market growing...
SportKompac1 11-05-2004, 11:43 AM I saw this over at SEMA and thought those of you in the market to s/c might be interested...
I'm more of a Procharger fan, since they give you everything (plumbing, hardware, and INTERCOOLER!!!) to do the upgrade.
Oh well... here's the link:

PapoSwing 11-05-2004, 12:46 PM Wow That thing looks amazing! Is that the SC being developed by Cosworth that we have been talking about in this forum? I'm starting to lean towards this SC instead of the JRSC, I mean 90 HP increase!!!
One question how many PSI is it putting down?
slyfocus 11-05-2004, 01:35 PM a 90bhp increase you are looking at around 7-8 intercooled psi
bowersdaazian 11-05-2004, 01:47 PM Damn when are they going to come out with FI for the 2.3!!! i want an extra 90 bhp to my car!!!
oh well i guess it just takes time, lots and lots of time.
talonk4 11-05-2004, 01:56 PM jeez, 4750 for the thing. i suppose that's close to the vortech, plus the shipping/remapping of the comp, but seriously...... wow. it also comes with a year warranty, but is it worth that much? (i know that question will have this thread blow up, but, hey, someone's gonna ask it)
talonk4 11-05-2004, 01:57 PM btw papo, it is cosworth. powerworks is a subdivision of cosworth (www.powerworks.net for more info)
PapoSwing 11-06-2004, 08:29 AM SO I would guess that if they are providing a 1 year warranty, and simply being Cosworth, the reliability of this product must be very good?
Also I think the 90HP increase isn't for the SVTF just regular Foci, Cause they posted a Dyno run on their website with their SVTF and it did 220hp and 200 lb/ft. Not exactly 90HP increase but still very Good!

cope1027 11-06-2004, 01:57 PM 5K!![:0] Damn these things are pricey. I would pay if I could.
CrazyWella 11-07-2004, 08:43 AM FI isnt a cheap game, you gotta pay to play. Otherwise every ricer out there would have an FI setup.
Geisto 11-07-2004, 09:22 PM 220hp/200tq supercharger...time for me to sell a kidney. Brembo brakes will have to wait, I want that supercharger!
frogg5872 11-08-2004, 09:12 PM you can get a vortec aftercooled and a good tune for less that that. C-f-m has em cheap.
talonk4 11-09-2004, 12:04 AM according to the new ff magazine, you can't. they say that the injectors and everything else that they run to make it work the best comes out to about the same ballpark figure. now it comes down to buying a name brand. if i had the money to kill, i'd totally run that way, but i doubt it'll ever come down to that.
talonk4 11-09-2004, 12:18 AM nope, i stand corrected. the groupbuy lists vortechs at like 4200 w/most of everything i believe, not 4700
microtonal 11-09-2004, 09:42 AM Can't wait too see what kind of numbers the FS supercharger puts down.
I just hope it ain't no $5K.

talonk4 11-09-2004, 11:06 AM when is FS's supercharger being offered? haven't heard much about it....
microtonal 11-09-2004, 11:30 AM No price or numbers at this time.
They should be going in to production soon but no date has been given at this time.
viney266 11-09-2004, 02:32 PM I saw this at SEMA as well, it looks like they got it right, innercooled and a M62, should be a nice piece, I was going to post about it but you got here first..ATI is doing one as well, many new options for the focus, but yes, all 2.0 zetec so far..
welding rod 11-09-2004, 05:25 PM I think Randy (of FS) just said over on FJ that the price is to be under 3K.
Edit: Yep, just double checked.
talonk4 11-09-2004, 09:54 PM what?! they're going to get it out for under 3K? wow, that's really competitive. sounds like us neglected foci owners are going to be having a few options really soon....

at the powerworks.net site play the video "from car and driver" they show pictures and the guy says "5 grand supercharger"[paranoid]
welding rod 11-09-2004, 11:27 PM SVTJERBO - Sorry if there is any confusion, the 3K I referred to was for the FS (ie Focus Sport) blower that Microtonal posted the picture of.
ZX3TUNR 11-10-2004, 10:45 AM That Power Works kit looks really impressive. I heard rumours the install is fairly easy to unlike the Vortech. Comes out of box and ready to slap on :D I still wouldnt mind seeing more picture of all the components it comes with. Im sure I seen some where saying it did have FMIC.
PapoSwing 11-10-2004, 10:51 AM What do you think wil be the power difference between the PowerWorks and the FS?
ZX3TUNR 11-12-2004, 12:12 AM I got this off another site regarding the Focus Sport setup. Leeched info LOL. Hopefully its accurate.
ok heres info on that system.it is a complete system that comes with injectors, sct, and all hardware minus maf.its a vortech unit,no intercooler due to distance and hood restriction and [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]it wont work on svtf's.[:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]
present setup is a stage 1 and will produce about 160ish to wheels on a stock Focus, stages 2 and 3 will come with fs header and perhaps cams they are shooting for 200whp
this is obviously a mild boost kit
in and around the 4-5psi range.
they are using the V-9 blower for this kit and it will do 20psi easily.
talonk4 11-12-2004, 07:32 AM well, if your leeched info is correct, it doesn't seem like that great of a deal anymore. think about it, if it's 3k for the stage 1, they're going ot have to add a bunch more for the header package for stage 2 or 3, and it's shorter on horses. granted, i'm not running out and buying either of them, but regardless. all these options confuse me!
slyfocus 11-14-2004, 12:38 AM FS blower was designed for drivabilty and extended life opperastion of the motor. it's a streetable kit design as a mild boost in power not an all-out power kit. for $3000, it's inline with the JRSC for price and performance and does have more room to grow than the JR unit.
the power works kit for the Zetec is the ONLY complete blower kit on the market.
comes with a air-to-water intercooler and front heat exchanger, MIC(cosworth reflashed ECU), and ready to bolt on and go. it has the ability to do 250fwhp on a standard zetec and then some.
SVT and 2.3L kits are in the wokrs and expect to be released in the new year.
FS blower is expected to be for sale in December, january at the latest or so i'm told by the guys at FS. final price has still not been nailed down but should be out within the next few weeks.
Oh and your leetched info is correct Jason.... :P
talonk4 11-14-2004, 05:15 PM so are you suggesting that the FS kit will be more durable/easier on the engine than the powerworks kit, or am i mistaken? secondly, when does the group buy for this start? jk, i'm totally out of that ballpark in price. oh, and one more question, does the FS one have engine tuning/management a la the powerworks kit, or is that up to the purchaser?
slyfocus 11-14-2004, 05:46 PM the FS kit is not "MORE" durable, just not designed to be a big power kit, thus the less power it adds, the less tsress on the motor the more durable the setup would be.
the FS and the powerworks kits will come with tuning solutions.
