My bro inlaw is looking at a 07 Califonia Special. It seems fishy tho, the bumpers and side skirts and scoops took to be hair off matching the paint on the car to me, that red flags that it might be a clone IMO. How can i tell if its fake, will it have certain letters in the VIN or will the title say cali special? Please any info will help thanks

As far as I can tell the C/S was an added option for the mustangs. I believe if you get the vin you can contact ford and they can tell you what it came for the factory with. Check for all the small things that were suppose to come with a real C/S like special floor mats and the engine cover.

Those parts would be plastic. Usually don't exactly match the painted metal parts. You see that on lots of cars. Probably nothing to be concerned over. Really stands out on the white Mustangs.

A real GT/CS will have the dove or parchment two-tone interior with aluminum dash upgrade and shaker audio system

The CS came with different bumpers. Maybe they were swapped with stock GT ones?

My dad's 07 GT is the same way the white bumpers don't match the white on the steel body panels. It is likely the difference between the painted plastic vs steel. I believe the GT CS just has the gt premium bumpers that have more shape to them.
