I have been wanting to lower my 2008 focus SE just don't know if I should just put lowering springs on it or if I should buy a coil over kit. My purpose is to have a good handling car for autocross but also not to bad on the road as I have two kids and it is my daily driver. Please leave your thoughts thanks!

coilovers since youre doing more than just the street. coilovers will make a difference from normal shocks and springs on autocross.
coilovers aren't that bad on the street, a little rough, but you get used to it so its ok

Buy the FRPP kit and be done with it. Will bolt right in and will be easy to get back into alignment spec.
For better handling during autocross upgrade your sway bars to larger ones. Use poly bushings in the rear. Get Massive's adjustable front end links and poly bushings. Massive also makes adjustable camber arms and toe arms for the rear which will also tighten things up (but are not required).
All the above mentioned mods will probably equal the cost of the JUST the coil over kit. Not bashing coil overs but for the best performance of the suspension you'll need to upgrade more than just the shocks/springs.

Agree with jgrove. You need to look at more than just lowering to get the car to handle. Yes it helps but there is more to suspension than just lowering.
Personally go coils with some GOOD shocks and struts. Coilovers in my opinion are kinda useless because how many times a yr are you going to change the ride high? Not many if at all. Yes you can go lower with them but lower doesn't always mean better handling. Plus how stiff 90% of coil overs are, one bump mid turn and you might spin.

thanks i have been looking at all of those options right now i just have the upper and lower strut bar and that has helped a lot but i want more and it will be mainly a street car with a little track and auto cross. But with the springs I can't seem to find an upgrade shock and strut package any ideas?

i forget the measurement but i'm an inch lower than the frpp and eibach kits. i tell people to buy this combo as it is worth it....but depending on what people want to spend they always go with the frpp kit or eibachs. even though the eibachs are a dollar less for an inch less..o well.

the car on the right has eibachs. side by side i could fit two fingers in her cars fender wells. i couldn't fit any in my cars fender wells

might be a dumb question but where can i buy a FRPP kit at?
The FRPP is two different components, and the springs have been discontinued- dealerships, websites that don't stock their own inventory will not have them anymore
I purchased the strut/shock setup from Summit Racing
part # M-18000-ZX3B
I purchased the springs from an ebay seller
part #M-5560-ZX3B
The "B" designation at the end is for like 2006-2011 cars

If you're going to be "really" involved in autocross the key ingredient is a good shock. Changing springs will automatically put you into a more competitive class where you'll get beat up on pretty bad if that's the only mod you have. I suggest starting in a stock class and using Koni Sport shocks/struts with stock springs.

Tirerack.com yes they are more expensive than drop springs but you go lower and the ride quality is still good and handles fine. But if people want cheap...I've already recommended my springs to many people and have said that my drop is lower but everyone just ends up going frpp
