My ZX3 has 100K miles and thinking of replacing struts with Ford Racing SVT struts but using my stock springs. Dont really need the drop of the full SVT kit which includes springs and sway bar but goes from 200 to 360 bucks. I think the ride will be greatly improved for my daily driver. Anyone have experience with this?? Can I use stock springs with SVT struts?

Agree^, but it's not going to add any real performance to corners or anything.

I just ordered the FRPP kit for my 2009 with the FRPP springs. I'll let you know my thoughts about it once I install it on the car in the next week or two.
IMO the FRPP shocks and struts with you'r stock springs will deffinetly be a ride improvement but like me timed above, you won't really be using them to the full potential without lowering springs. But for the price if you just need shocks and struts because you'r are blown. Why not upgrade to the frpp

Just about any car will benefit from new shocks. The SVT shocks should work OK with the stock shocks. SVT springs are not that much lower (1/2") and only about 15% or so stiffer than stock springs but they have an amazing impact on handling. If you could swing it, I'd strongly suggest the full SVT kit (springs, shocks, and rear sway). It's the best bang for the buck there is suspension wise.....period. A really good "stock" replacement shock/strut would be KYB GR2's (aka Excels). They may cost a little more than SVT shocks but from a quality standpoint they maybe even better.

The SVT springs are worth it: no compromise in practicality, ride quality doesn't suffer, it's not enough lowering to necessitate camber correction or worry about speedbumps,
but it makes the car feel so much more stable and responsive.
Too bad I am 2500 miles from home for the next few weeks, I have set of SVT springs that I only ran for 500 miles before I had the insatiable need to lower it a little more for aesthetic reasons. I would sell them for $60 plus shipping.
