ViperThreat 07-17-2012, 10:25 PM I have a set of those headlights too. Make sure to aim the low-beams down a bit.. The cutoff plate is shaped oddly, and will blind oncoming traffic if aimed wrong.
Congratz on your new ride man!
_Auricom_ 07-17-2012, 10:31 PM Thanks! [headbang]
I immediatley changed the oil with Pennzoil Ultra 5-W20/Bosh Oil Filter. I installed some new Bosh Iridium Spark Plugs as well that breathed new life into the hatch! lolz I love it so far! [cheers]
....and I own a 2001 Bishi Eclipse GT as well thats tastefully modded.[eek] [facepalm]

Might also want to consider a set of wheels that is lighter than those stock SVT EAPS. They are HEAVY! And you can find a bunch of aftermarket wheels that look great on these cars that aren't 24lbs each. I think a few companies make wheels that looka lot like them as well that are way lighter. Remember the rule of un-sprung weight, for few pounds you get robbed from the HP department! Plus handling and braking are adversely effected....post pics of the car now!
_Auricom_ 07-18-2012, 06:36 PM [QUOTE=Sniperx;4264949]Might also B]post pics of the car now![/B]QUOTE]
Negative'tive ... i havent taken any pics as of yet. Also, I was not aware that these stockers weighed that much!!! [eek]
I was considering some Enkei RPF1's in Bronze for the win! ... I plan on deleting the stock 6CD player(which is currently not working right), the stock subwoofer and amp if there is one, deleting spare tire and possibly the windsheild wiper Fluid Resevior. getting lighter seats from Ciphor and moving the battery to the rear seating area with a Optima lightweight yellow top battery. I got the Carbon Fiber hood already!

If you want light stiff wheels and tyres stray off the current huge wheel mentality. Sure big wheels look great, but they aren't great for handling when you really figure ut out. If you go to the races or track days everyone eventually ends up with a max of a 16in wheel and some have 15s to keep rotating mass at the least they can.(on our cars that is) My tyre and wheel combo only weighs a total of 34lbs, stock steels with tyres and hubcaps was 45lbs. And those EAPS weigh almost 24lbs each and the 17in tyre to go on them in a 205 45 17 weighs an average of 21lbs so that is as heavy as a stock steel 15s with tyres! PLUS it moves the rotating mass to the outside of the wheel making it even worse. I can actually feel my lighter combo over stock and get a little better mileage, and quickness.
Since I have a warranty I HAVE to leave my motor almost stock save for factory Ford parts. As a result, my plan it to lighten the car as much as possible, and stiffen it as much as possible to make it handle as well as it possibly can and when the warranty runs out, FI it. i am also doing CF hood, sway bars, upper and lower strut tower rods, and getting the KYB adjustable shocks and struts and doing all ploy bushes. By the time I can do FI this thing will be handling like a track day car!

All that is on it right now is the wheels tyres discussion, springs install and before and after pics. Oh and some pics of my insanity with striping tape! As I do more stuff there will be more pics and writeups on how they worked.
dansb6 07-19-2012, 02:59 PM Goodluck!, those are some clean headlights.
Sniperx 07-20-2012, 11:03 AM where did you get the headlights and how much were they?
Klondike 07-20-2012, 04:34 PM hey welcome to the phx area man, we will need to meet up sometime and do a cruise, and i had those lights on my old focus, worked well imo
_Auricom_ 07-21-2012, 01:35 PM Those headlights are from Ebay for $129 plus shipping $25. They are dual LED Halo with two LED's in between the halos. THE way to go with halo's are CCFL HALO's as they are cold burning but the CCFL halo market hasn't gone full throttle yet so unless you are going to install them yourself's expect alot of LED halo's for the time being.
I have purchased headlights from them prior for my Eclipse and the HID Ballast lens give you a weaker beam than the stock set up.
I recieved my headlights yesterday and the manufacturer did a very good job in shipping them to me. The packaging seems a notch better than my previous purchase some years ago. I hope they meet the quality of my stock headlights in terms of visability at night. I am going to the Pavs tonight so expect a ton of pics of my ride and others there! [cheers]
@ Klondike: I just got my SVT and am already working on getting some good mods here very soon as in within a month. I plan on scoring sum Enkei RPF1's in bronze, lightweight lug nutz, K&N SRI, 67mm throttle body, light weight Aluminum Pullyz for the ZX5! I need a tune after im done with that little list though. I am still trying to figure out this forum. lolz
its a little different from the other one Im on for my Bishi. [8)]

_Auricom_ 07-22-2012, 11:38 PM Anyone recommend a good way to take off the tail lights on the ZX5? I have a bad bulb thats not wanting to blink. Any advice is appreciated. [shhh]
Klondike 07-23-2012, 10:41 PM ah yeah, thres a screw you gotta take off, then isde a spinner plastic nut, and then just pull quickly and itll pop off quick
Sniperx 07-24-2012, 09:49 AM ah yeah, thres a screw you gotta take off, then isde a spinner plastic nut, and then just pull quickly and itll pop off quickWhere is the plastic nut?
_Auricom_ 07-24-2012, 11:07 AM I was reading on a thread in this forum that to get to that you have take the sub cover off in the trund/hatch area?? awful lot of work to get to one nut dont ya think?
Klondike 07-24-2012, 01:54 PM if you look in the hatch area, theres an opening for that plastic long nut, you use your hand to unscrew it, shoudlnt have to take anything off
_Auricom_ 07-25-2012, 12:20 PM Thanks for the advise! I tried to take off the driver side taillight this past Sunday ending in Massive Failure but I should be able to get it off now.
Another question on two mods I am looking at. First up is the 67mm Throttle Body by CFM. Any input on this? Anyone know what the stock TB is at? 60mm maybe?
CFM 67mm Throttle Body for '02-04 SVT/ST170 Focus
http://www.c-f-m.com/productimages/cfm-8001.jpg
List: $259.00
Price: $249.95
IN STOCK!
&
CFM 2pc Aluminum Underdrive Pulley Kit for '00-04 Ford Focus Zetec/SVT/ST170
http://www.c-f-m.com/productimages/detail/underdrivepullykit.jpg
Price: $119.95
The other two mods in my to do list is a K&N SRI or a Carbon Fiber SRI($125) from a seller over at the Bishi Forums. The other mod is a polyurathane motor mount.
_Auricom_ 07-29-2012, 04:58 PM bump for new pics on 1st post and pm to Klondike sent...
Klondike 07-30-2012, 11:23 PM nice start man, pm replied too!
_Auricom_ 08-12-2012, 10:51 PM Alright, so time haz come for new wheelz. I have come to the Rota Slipstreams. I have a question on size & fitment.
15x7.5: 13.5'sh lbs, needs 5mm spacer to clear front SVT stock calipers. 225/50 tires!
16x7: 215/50 tires, not sure how much more these weigh but would they clear the stock SVT front calipers and how about the Willwood BBK?
Anyone know where I can find these as well. I have found them on Ebay but theyre a set of 4 15x7.5 in white for $520'sh, not including shipping.
http://i.ebayimg.com/t/ROTA-WHEEL-SLIPSTREAM-15x7-5-40-4x108-WHT-FOCUS-SAAB-FIESTA-/00/$(KGrHqJ,!igE3(2WoNsBBOJNDdLGng~~_12.JPG
I do want a set in BRONZE if anyone knows where they can be had let me know plz!
http://www.aspecwheels.net/image/cache/Slipstream_4H_FRSB_03-500x500.jpg
Sniperx 08-13-2012, 09:31 AM Rota Slipstreams are only 12~13lbs in a 15, and 14~plus a few ounces in 16 so go 16. I still think 15in wheels look too tiny on a Focus since the wheel arches are so big and the rears are not really centered in the wheel arch if it is a 2000~2008 or so. Plus there is a much better choice in 16in rubber than 15 so there is that as well. Love the bronze or white. Everyone is getting so into black wheels, I may have my Konig Zero Ins painted red on the spokes when I get a chance since they are anthricite grey in the rim and wheel, and have silver spokes and the grey part has a red stripe.

So I called 18 on verifying the availability of these Slipstreams and the lady asked me if I can wait til next year when they'll get more in. really?? [8]
... I didin't even attempt to answer that question [shameful]
I did find a few sets on Ebay but I hear that thats not any better. Any one know where I can score a set?? I want some new wheelz real soon here.

Here is the other one I am considering
http://www.knfilters.com/images/l/69-3511TR.jpg

Klondike 08-14-2012, 06:45 PM i like the red one!
FYI i have some 15x7 wheels n tires in my garage, if you ever wanna test fit to ese how itd be, 205 50 15 tires, gloss black as well, look good on your silver car. also ill be contacting ya soon, first weekend off last weekend was a tad busy!
_Auricom_ 08-15-2012, 10:45 AM Yeah, let me know when I can stop by and check them out! pics maybe?
Edit: Just scored the red K&N SRI for $171.73 free shipping!

text me what youre asking for those wheelz?
Also, I know I recently posted sum noobi'sh modz but I had to get away from this CAI design. I know you get more powa from colder air but give me a break! More power shouldn't come at the cost of a dirty/soaked filter. [rant]
That I cannot deal with ... NO!!!!
mkay new modz im thinking of gett'n nao!

Are any of these any good?! [wrenchin]
Klondike 08-18-2012, 12:13 AM i have a cosworth CAI, see where the fender flares are on my front bumper, on drivers side thats where mine is and its fine, never hydrolocked, it gets dirty, i clean it every oil change or every oil change and its been fine, just do a recharge, 20 dollars gets you a good 5-10 recharges, and if you wanna test fit em before you buy you def can do it, i know svt rotors up front are a tad bigger, i know i had no clearance issues on mine, i believe d20 rotors are 11 and svts are 11.2 inches, but the offset on the wheels are a +38, some 15s clear svt brakes, never tried with these ronal rts, usually you need a 16
_Auricom_ 08-24-2012, 10:14 PM Bump for Goodies that came and are now on except the rear brace bar by MASSIVE and the Carbon Fiba Shorty Antenna . .. shit got me mad I haven't gotten the antenn yet. lolz The rear strut bar will be installed this sunday when I haz time.
K&N with new filter is an improvement for sure over the AEM CAI only cuz the AEM was beat to heck, too many bendz ripps on the filter and what not. Pretty happy thus far. CFM 67mm is next on the table along with the two front window tint by Viper and a swap in head Unit with my Fusion IPOD playa, ... playa!
1hotfocus 08-24-2012, 11:06 PM A front strut bar is useless on a focus, and that short ram adds no power to a svt. Best intake for the svt is stock, or a true cold air. At normal operating temps that maf sensors reading in some hot air. Just an fyi. And clean interior btw

1hotfocus 08-24-2012, 11:08 PM Also forgot. A good set of spark plug wires are good, but the stock coil is best for the focus msd coils do nothing for focus'. Under drive pulleys are also a waist of time and money . They are dyno proven to do nothing to our cars, just a heads up dude :)

Useless?? then why did the company make them with the front lower strut bar?
The SRI IS and improvement for the sorry excuse for a "CAI" it came with & again, is a temporary fix should I decide to go FI.

Obviously you have much to learn with these cars. Talk to 1turbofocus (tom) he's own and built a bunch of focus and is one of the best tuners out there. He'll tell you stock intake is best if not a cai. And under drive pulleys are a waist of money I'm sure he'll tell you like he's told hundreds before. Same thing with the msd coil. The stock one is the best out there for a focus under 300 horsepower or so. FRONT TOP strut bar is useless as well on FOCUS'. There only eye candy. Being a wise arse (as I'm interpreting it, maybe your not) when I'm telling you I've been around these forums for years, that there all useless on svtfs. Maybe if you searched before you clicked checkout on some items you would save your money, for a little bit of time. Ebay? my god have ppl gone that low before?? ... I'll make this one a little easier on you. How bout a set of Ksport Pro Kontrol coilovers. Easily on par with D2's(same coilover, different company/paint job) & Megans. Not the best out there but for the money your getting ALOT out of this investment. BTW, Ksports Headquarter's office is in Gilbert AZ which is in Phoenix. Why is that even important enough to post you say?? ... well should I have any issue's or a need to rebuild them there is literaly no downtime as I can walk in their office, drop it off and pick it back up within a week timsworth.

Retard? Uncalled for. I tried helping you out, and you seemed to tell me i didnt know what I was talking about so I showed you some info. Honestly, you seem like a pretty rude kid, and its not needed on these forums. Take it to focal jet. As far as the coilovers, it was a joke. And k sports have has customer service problems with people in the past. maybe not you since you seem to live near by. I've helped out lots of new members out here before and all of em were greatful. I understand its hard to believe but honestly it is what it is. You make yourslef look like a fool by calling someone a retard who was trying to help you. I've earned a good amount of rep on here, a lot of people respect each other on this site. Were all a family trying to help each other out, which is why I've learned so much on her in the past couple of years. Ive been a certified mechanic for 20 years and I can assure you everything I've said before is true about what's useless on a focus. I've dynoed tons at shops, and learned plenty. _Auricom_ 08-27-2012, 10:28 AM Retard? Good luck to you sir.

you know, I made a mistake in assuming you were on here to troll. I had that happen on other forums. You pointed out some good pointers and I feel like the retard now. [scratch][facepalm] sorry! Thanks for your input & Erep given! =)

_Auricom_ 10-01-2012, 11:56 AM Bump for jew
OZ UltraLaggera's @ 15x7 have been paid. I will be posting my stock SVT 17's w/excellent tires for DD for cheap. Along with my AEM CAI and few other trinkets like a Magnaflow exhaust. Will be priced to move, preferred locally.
QUESTION: Is the CFM 2 1/2 inch Stainless Flexpipe for '02-04 Ford Focus SVT/ST170 worth the moniez? I am looking to tune the ZX5 and have the sensor's switched off so no code will be thrown or have the check engine light activated. Is this the ORP everyone here recommends for the SVT?
