Im thinking of getting a second focus just for a project and wanted a 00-04 wagon but was wondering if they came with a 5speed option cuz im thinking of boostin it, any one know?

a few of them lol you have to look pretty hard to find them tho or just do a ATX to MTX swap

they are def out there. i had always wanted a wagon but couldnt find a 5 spd and gave up. bought my zx3 and the VERY NEXT DAY one came up for sale at the same price i gave for the zx3. i was FURIOUS

Yea im trying to find a cheap one that might need some engine work or something i can get cheap then fix it and slap a turbo on it but the more it seems that is a very slim chance of happening

They are rare. But every now and then I see them pop up all over Craigslist. Ive seen plenty of them. W/ Zetec/ 2.3 duratec too!

Just checked Auto Trader. you have 15 manual trans Focus wagons within 500 miles of you. Most of them seem real expensive though. Foci seem cheaper on the west coast for some reason.

F the manual trans. I think you guys put too much into something very small. Lentech makes an ATX that will handle more power than you can purchase a clutch to handle for this car. Turbo power comes on better with the ATX than with the MTX, and you get to keep both hands on the wheel to manage torque steer.

Back in the day some AT's used huge TC's that robbed as much as 45 hp from the engine to operate. Modern TC's are not as restrictive. I don't know of any figures, but if you'll look at posted stock dynos of MTX vs ATX, I'd bet its more around 15-20 hp. You also have lock-up, which those old (and I mean 50's-60's) converters didn't have. If you really have to be a control freak during acceleration, then I'm certain there's a way to install a ratcheting shifter and full manual valve body mods are already available from Lentech. When you're looking at a difference of 420hp vs 400hp, who cares? Besides do you think that 20hp is going to make you faster in the 1/4, or are the faster, 100% accurate shifts of the AT going to win the day?

I kno an auto is a better option for a turbo car but im not planning to build a race car out of it just something fun to drive and different so i wanted a wagon, figured id lower it and throw some nice wheels on it. I went after the zetec cuz ive seen turbo kits come up for them more often and alot cheaper then the duratec

Well not yet. Soon thought, hopefully. Its not finished. In the future want to boost it. Only a small turbo, 1 because i want to learn how to tune with MS and 2 im going with the Ztec Exh turbo manifold route. So i think the biggest id go would be like a 16g maybe. Maybe 20g if i could find one for the right price.

I wouldnt do something like a holest or a hughe SPA turbo. Thats when youll need to upgrade to that built ATX
