Latley i have noticed an odd rattle when i accelerate hard when the car is warm.
I was wondering if any of you gurus have got a lowdown on any parts that are prone to coming loose on a 2001 lx focus?

I have looked under the hood and spot checked most of the visible components for loose connections and i found nothing. I also pulled up on a high curb and spot checked under the motor(not as well as obove the motor) i still found nothing that i can immediately see wrong.

Its not a hollow sound. It almost sounds like it is attached to the frame or motor. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Man, I have the same problem in my SE, it makes the noise when the car has been sitting like overnight. It is coming from the passenger side front, and like you said I can find anything. I have check vacumn hoses, bearings and everything and no dice. But the weird thing is after I drive it about 20-30 min it stops.

Is your CAI loose? Do you have a header or cat-back that is loose or rubbing? My CAI would hit the FS strut bar and rattle at lights or idling.
