Hey guys I recently purchased some 04 SVT rims.
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=6891

I went to put them on my 09 focus today and they're making contact with the caliper. I talked to a friend who works at a shop and he told me I could get away with about a 1/4" spacer but that seemed too much and really don't want to risk the bearings that much. Really looking for a recommendation on what size I should get. Right now I'm thinking 5mm. Also where should I buy them from? Is there any local store that might carry them like napa or pep boys?

I know there's two other users on here who have these rims on a second gen I just don't know what spacing they used.

Or just shave the caliper down where it's rubbing

fyi - 6mm is almost equal to 1/4". soooo....5 mm is not too much.

http://www.trakplus.com/ for the spacers.

You are something wrong, 6spokes has same spec as the 15spokes which you can get standard on 09, meaning there is no rubbing.

Yea that's what I thought but it's not happening. I also really am not fond of the idea of shaving down the caliper either. So do you guys think 5mm would be good or should I stick with 3mm?

Let me put it another way.... You dont need spacers to clear the calipers

The good old svt's on a 2nd Gen, you need to add 5mm spacers, machine the wheels a little, or grind down the caliper mount. There have been quite a few members that have gone through this. Most just run 5mm spacers or grind the caliper mount. Adding spacers (5mm) is not going to kill the bearings, for all intents your reducing the effective backspacing by 5mm to the more common aftermarket 40-45mm offset.

And just to help everyone out, the SVT 6 spoke wheels are the only factory ford focus wheel with fitment issues on the 2nd Gen Focus (besides 14").

Thanks man. I think I'll be picking up the H&R's 5mm. Are there any cheaper spacers available? $60 seems pricey to me. Also should I buy 4 spacers or just 2 since the front two wheels are the only problem

there are always cheaper choices out there, but you get what you pay for. My life is worth the extra $$$ for safety.
