well im not sure if this will be off much use to anyone, but i know when i was looking at buying a focus i could hardly find any info on the svt's mpg. so here it goes. this weekend i went from houston to san antonio(roughly 230 miles) san antonio to austin(say 70miles) and back then back home from san antonio to houston. heres my stats

going up to SA i got 28mpgs with an average speed range of 75-80(few romps to 90 passing etc few slow downs to traffic) cruise control set to 75 about 2/3s the way then 80 roughly .75 of the remaining 1/3(filled up from a 1/4 tank)

from San An to Austin and Back i used roughly a 1/2 tank got 30mpgs went 180miles(ok this includes some city drving around austin and san an) put in just under 6gallons(was 5.99)

coming home today i have 250miles on the trip and its resting right above 1/4 tank which means it will take probably 8-8.x gallons =roughly 30mpgs.

so yes the city mpg on the sticker is about right for me, but im finding that the highway is was off. this is the 2nd big trip in my focus(first to dallas where i netted 23 going up~this due to my many romps up to 130mphs and back down and back up etc~ and 30mpgs coming down~cruise control set to 80 here)

anyways thats all i have to say. just trying to help anyone out if they are curious about SVT gas mileage or if your in the market for one and wondering about gas prices on the rise

Im sure the SVT can quite possibly get 35 mpg if you could keep your cruising speed around 60 to 65 mph.

^^^^Yep^^^^
I actually pulled 35.5mpg going through Yellowstone and Teton National Parks.[:D]
My city commute (rather rural here) is 24.5-26, and 85mph cruise nets 31-32mpg.
Gotta remember though, I'm rarely driving below 4,000' in elevation.

I'm averaging 28.5 MPG's in my brand new SVT with no mods other than an aftermarket stereo and a removed intake silencer. I've had as low as mid 26 MPG's and a high of mid 31 MPG's. My average tank usually consists of about 2/3 highway miles. This is on a car that has less than 2700 miles! I'm hoping for 30+ consistently...
