I curently have over 800lbs of stereo equipment in my car and it rides on the bump stops and the tires rub fenders on bumps . I have a few ideas I want to run by everyone


Focus wagon Coil springs (heard they were taller)
Airlift helper bags (wagon kit(1" taller bag) wagon springs ,sedan with sedan springs

They use to make a shock that had a air valve you could use to adjust stiffness ,do they still make those?

Any other ideas please post them also ... ride heigt being too high is not a concern

you could run a set of ST Suspension's spring distance spacers (.8" lift spacers) there designed to help lift the car some from excess weight.

The wagons rear suspension is very diffferent and its highly unlikely the rear springs will fit your car.

As mentioned in your previous thread, suspension alone is not going to fix all of your problems. I'm assuming you would like to carry an extra passenger or two, perhaps a full tank of gas, maybe even a driver. As mentioned in the previous thread your car is at or very close to it's maximum load carrying capacity with just the sound system. Have you thought about reducing the weight of the system or somehow redistributing it some how? Having all that weight primarily in the rear only magnifies the problem. Remember the max. load carrying capacity intends that the weight is distributed between the front and rear of the car and not all in one place.

I can only carry one passenger , how wouldnt adding better suspension components help increase capacity tho? Im being kind of stubbern but that seems to be the only issue for the time being

Ur probably going to have to replace ur springs with air bags... then just fill them up with a tire pump

It's easy. There is a product by Firestone called Air Lift that consists of air bladders that fit into you rear coil springs. They are in effect adjustable spring stiffeners that engage when your springs drop the first inch or two, from there they give big progressive resistance depending on how much you pump them up. I know, I have some that I have used for dirt roading and they are really made for handling loads. There is a fitment specifically for Focus and Focus wagon. A search wil find them, let me know if you need the part number.
