Now that I have the TB and intake on I am now looking to improve the exhaust. I'm looking at doing a race header but the problem is, that if I went witha race header I would need a flex pipe and the only ones available are for the zetec motors. I know that it would fit on an SPI engine with a few modification but I lack the tools an the know how to do this, and living ina small town I don''t think anyone would know how to either.

After some thought, I was thinking of the shorty headers and an Off Road Pipe for the exhust. Is there a big/small difference in hp and torque between the shorty headers and ORP and a race header. I think for the exhuast system I am most likely going to go with the Focus Sport "Stealth" exhaust.

No matter what you do. That flex pipe is going to hurt ya. Your gonna get all that stuff and that is going to be your bottleneck. All you gotta do is get a custom made flex pipe. Just take it to a shop. When you get that stuff put on. I got quoted $110 bucks for a custom made flex pipe. Im dying to go race headers or shorty with orp. But, I cant. Since, I live in Cali. Either way you go. That FS stealth system is a very good choice. If it was me. I would be going with, shorty headers, orp, custom made flex pipe and FS stealth exhaust. Our race headers are made from Focus Central. Im sure you are aware of that. But, they arent made properly. The firing order is all messed up.

I find it hard to believe that these companies that make the race headers and shorty headers and exhaust system didn't think that we would need a costom flex pipe.

go with the race. the shortys are on severe back order, the gains are better with the race too. the shortys also fry your cat. so unless u look 4ward to spending more...
