I took my 02 zx3 to a mechanic who said the front, passenger side bearing plate is seriously eff-ed [bigcry]

he told me he couldn't replace passenger side strut without also replacing the driver's side strut and then doing an alignment.

I want it done right but I'm on a tight budget for a few weeks. Is this dude ripping me off or what?

I dont see why you couldnt do one at a time. I mean, its ideal to replace things in pairs but not nesscery(sp).

the strut mounts are cheap to replace. they get you with the labor.

do what you can.. i hope this helps ya

yea I think I'm going to just wind up replacing the plates for now and then doing the struts when funding is easier to come by. thanks for the help!

If cash is tight, just replace the strut mount / bearing plate.
I wouldn't replace one shock or strut at a time either.
