1st off [welcome] to FF. Stickys above ^^^^ are your freind. Take an hr or so & go thru all the how to's= I know it'll take you longer. thou. There is a lot of info in this Forum. Hit up Trevor @ Tirerack. You can go w/ FRPP's springs & dampers, that'll get you a -1.5'' drop. Eibach's Sportline system= springs & dampers= f2.2''/r 2.0'' drop. What ever you do don't just add springs & call it a day. You need dampers=struts/shocks to go w/ those springs.[thumb]

I just added the complete svt kit to my zx3. Didn't lower it much but greatly increased handling. Also beware of the lower control arms. They can cause major issues

I've been browsing through the stickies as well and was wondering if there's a one stop shop to get everything I'd need for a stock 07 ZX3. I was thinking about the Eibach sportline kit but not sure what other items I'd need for alignment such as the camber bolts and front kits and if I'd need new struts and shocks or if they're even necessary.

If your gonna lower it I reccomend new struts/shocks. Not really sure about camber bolts

If your going for Sportlines= get the Sportline system= springs/struts/shocks. Hit up Trevor@ Tirerack.

The practical drop limit with just springs is about 2". With coilovers its 2 to 3". You can go even lower with airbags. As you go lower you need stiffer springs and firmer shocks to make up for the loss of suspension travel. This increase in stiffness/firmness will significantly compromise ride quality and handling on anything but a perfectly smooth road surface. I've always felt that a 1.5" drop is a good compromise between looks, handling and ride quality. That amount of drop still provides adequate ground clearance and suspension travel and the spring rates don't need to be overly stiff. The aftermarket suppliers seem to agree as there's far more options in the 1.5" range than any other drop (ignoring adjustable coilover options).

Dropping a focus even 1.5" would require a camber adjustment, or could you get by with out it? I have always thought of a slightly negative camber as improving handling, especially on curves.

As a result of lowering a car, negative camber is increased pretty much automatically. A Focus can handle a fair amount of camber in the front without excessive tire wear but that's not the case in the rear. Even moderate amounts of camber combined with low amounts of toe-in can result in lots of inside edge rear tire wear. Since rear camber is not adjustable, a rear camber adjustment devise is required with just about any amount of drop. You don't want to exceed more than -1.5 degrees of camber in the rear. Less is actually better from a tire wear standpoint. While it's true that fair amounts of camber can be beneficial for the track or autocross course, it has minimal benefits for normal street driving and the cost associated with it is accelerated tire wear.

Being you have a '04, you'll need struts/shocks. You more than likey have over 50,000 miles on your foci, huh?
