Im just interested in knowing who out there actually have Toms kit. The turbo kit fund has started and am hoping to getting it this spring/summer (FMIC/MIC setup)

Just some questions and hoping Tom can answer them in here to. This may also help for others intersted in the kit.

Right now as info goes what I been told is the kit includes every thing you need. Runs $5200 and for some extra $$$ a BOV can be added.

Here are the questions.

1. Is the kit fully bolt on and ready to drive and tuned upon completetion install?

2. Is there any thing you have to do differently with install depending on year of Focus?

3. How long does it take to install?

4. Can some one with some engine work experience install the kit?

5. Is there instructions or a diagram included for setup (I was asked this but had to tell the guy I dont have it yet so i wouldnt know LOL)

6. Why is it so expensive

7. Will the FMIC in behind my RS/Collection bumper?

Those are some questions I have and some questions I been asked. Some ppl got the idea I allready owned the kit and had to tell them not yet lol

I think this should be a sticky where every one else can post there questions. Makes it easier for Tom when he is prolly getting 100's of emails asking the same questions all the time. Then everything can be put into one area.

1. Is the kit fully bolt on and ready to drive and tuned upon completetion install?
**Yes the kit is bolt on and drive there may be some changes in the tuning that will need to be done but in most cases minor

2. Is there any thing you have to do differently with install depending on year of Focus?
**No all the Foci are all the same ,SVT and ZX3 are differant

3. How long does it take to install?
**This will all depend on who is installing it , It takes me about 15Hrs to install

4. Can some one with some engine work experience install the kit?
**Yes my kit is not hard to install at all just takes time

5. Is there instructions or a diagram included for setup (I was asked this but had to tell the guy I dont have it yet so i wouldnt know LOL)
**No i have not finished all of that yet but no one has had any problems installing them because every thing is VERY straight forward

6. Why is it so expensive
**I dont think it is expensive ,Take all the other kits and change the things that are wrong with them or add the parts to them they need to run properly and do what my kit will do and you will see that they will cost more than mine does

7. Will the FMIC in behind my RS/Collection bumper?
**Yes, I have not seen a bumper it will not fit in

You wont find many that have my kits on the boards most are not on here but there is many of them out there now

I should/might be coming into some big time money in a few months in which case I want a turbo from Tom for my duratec. Even if it means I have to drive all the way to North Carolina(I think?) from North Dakota to be the "first". LOL

Keep up the great work Tom, as I've read theres a few that harp on ya but trust me there are plenty of us that are grateful for what ya do! :)

Haha, 16 hours if you factor in how much lighter my pockets are after all that money! :)

But money well spent!

Here's some more questions for Tom I'd like to add to this:

8. The ZX3 turbo kit pics on your site suggest that the kit eliminates the cat, is this correct?

9. If one is having the install done at your shop, how much time should he expect to reserve for this. I know you said it takes you 15hrs, but i'm looking at more an estimate on how long of a vacation time i'm gonna need - so, would 2-3 days in your shop be enough to drive away with the kit well tuned?

10. Which chip do you use with the ZX3 kit?

11. I read somewhere that the chip you use can have different settings for street/track driving. That suggests the ability to change the boost. What range of boost does the Deltagate you use allow for?

12. Would you suggest a use of a BOV with your intercooled kit?

I think that you will be hard pressed to find one that doesnt.. Aerocharger doesn't.. I don't know of any others.. Maybe precision but I am fairly certain that is not the case though..
good luck

thanks, and yea, i know most do, just that the kit doesn't specifically say that even though i think for some people it is at least somewhat of an important factor. it doesn't deter me from buying the kit, i just wanted to know so i can get a random tech cat welded after the downpipe.
