Okay So I am still new here and still learning but have a few questions so I can start getting my parts together for this build.
I am going from an 01 SPI to 00 Zetec and I am going to tear the zetec apart and rebuild the bottom end so it will be ready for a turbo set-up. Here's my situation. I have a guy here in town that has a lot of focus parts he is trying to get rid of and is willing to give a 2000 zetec motor at no charge, however it has no accessories with it.
Here is what I have come up with parts-wise from what I need off of a donor zetec car I found at the salvage yard:
-alternator
-PS pump (and lines?)
-ECU and wiring harness from fuse box back to the fuel pump
-transmission flexplate (i have read that the auto trans from spi to zetec is the same but the flex plate is different)
-A/C lines ( I have read the Compressor is the same but just just flipped upside-down but the lines were different- is this right?)
Am I missing anything? Unfortunately I can not just buy a donor car and pull everything out at the house as my space is limited right now and this build will probably take a little while. The neighbors would kill me if i had a beater laying in the driveway for an extended amount of time. [nono]
Also, The donor car at the salvage yard did not have a key in it so can i just have my current key prgrammed to work with the new ECU? Wasn't 100% sure on this as the info in some of the threads I have read seemed a little sketchy.
I am hoping to go to the salvage this weekend so help me out guys! Thanks!
