i am getting the option racing header and cfm throttle body and eventually cams. right now i have the k&n typhon intake, msd coil and wires, 2 1/4" flexpipe back exhaust with a flowmaster 40 muffler. will someone tell me the best way to tune my car to get rid of the 110mph governor and get the best hp and mpg gain....

There's no reason to get rid of the speed limiter, I still have mine in place.

But get a tune from Tom if you want one now. That way when you add more parts the updated tune is free.

There are only 2 options to 'tune' your car:
* Xcal + Advantage III (Pro-Racer) - $$650-$1,100 (depending on who you buy from and options)
* Xcal and remote tune - $400-$more (depending on who you go with and options)

YOU DON'T NEED TO REMOVE THE LIMITER.

Talk to 1turbofocus and he'll give you his prices. IIRC it's about $400 for the device and custom tune.

And if you're 'racing' cars on the interstate and winning,,, you're racing the wrong cars, slowpoke.

Racing on the interstate is dumb. It's not safe for you or anybody else on the road. Take it to the track buddy

None of us care. Racing does not belong on the street no matter what.

If you want to stay around you'd best learn that real fast.

That is the info I find on local tracks.
I myself drive 1.5 hours to the nearest 1/4 track, at least once a month.

Huh? I hit the rev limiter on a nearly stock Focus with ¼ of the straight still left to go at Roebling Road. I have seen the maps; the ECU starts messing with the timing as soon as you hit triple digits. You don't hit the speed limiter, you slowly bump up against it. A stock Focus is fast enough for a road course, believe me. I am the yellow car in this video:

If you don't hit the rev limiter on a racetrack you are either on a really tight track or you suck as a driver. If you want to remove the speed limiter for use on the street, you just suck, period, end of discussion.

i wouldnt recommend going pass 110mph in a focus. one wrong move and this could happen

Mostly stock focus on real street tires, not even DOT race tires. Camera car is a near stock SVT. Still think your car isn't fast enough for the track?

I got a FocusSport (now FSWerks) XCAL2 about 8 years ago and am still happy with it.
