I currently have a 2007.. Was wondering if anyone has done a tranny swap from an automatic to a manual?

Hey man. I did that swap on a 1996 Ford Probe Gt once. Everyone warned me and said that it couldn't be done. I did it anyway. I found a donor car, and took all of the parts from it. My automatic model had all of the punch outs for the manual transmission hardware. I remember having to make a jumper for the harness from the old tranny to tell the computer that the car was in nuetral (timing was no problem, all the way to top speed) and that the car threw out codes to tell me that the automatic transmission had a problem (as in it was gone). I just took the check-transmission-light out of the dash and drove it just fine. Good luck. I know it wasn't a Focus, but I just thought it might help you. I wouldn't dare attempt such a swap with a car that has the integrated navigation/health report option.

I found a manual sitting for sale at a local junk yard. Came out of Focus that was rear ended. Has 140,000 miles on it. They said it would work in my car. I just don't know what all I would need to perform this swap.

As far as I know, you need:
The transmission, the ecu, the clutch pedal, clutch master cylinder, all the wiring, the shifter, and a new center console.

I'm probably forgetting some things but that's most of it I think. I've been back and forth on doing this swap for a while now. I just never seem to have the money or the time to do it. Hopefully someone else with a little more experience in this area will chime in and add to my list that I have so far.
