When i put my e-brake down, i hear a nice clink underneath my car. it sounds to be coming form directly underneath the handle, but on the outside of the car, as with the windows closed, the sound is muffled.
Ive also noticed that my e-brake comes up alot further than it used too. Usually 3-5 clicks was enough, now its like 10-18

Im going to pop the center console up tomorrow and see if i can find anything, if i cant, ill jack up the car and see whats up.

Anybody have any clues for me?

the cable runs in the exhaust tunnel above the heat shield. to me i think only one side of the car might actually get the ebrake and the other side the cable snapped causing the junction point to hang lower and hit the heat shield when released.

have someone sit inside the car and pull the ebrake up and down, then get behind the rear calipers and see if they're engaging equally

that would be a good start. if not get under the car and remove the section of exhaust sheilding where the sound comes from... by exhaust shielding i mean this stuffhttp://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz296/Dehacked1/shifter%20linkage/DSCN0207.jpg

comes off with a little bending after taking the funny nuts off

You could try adjusting the nut to tighten the e brake maybe?

^^ turns out it was just wayyyyy to loose.. That nut didnt have any locktite or anything to keep it from spinning, and it was nearly falling off.

I tightened her up, and everything is fine.
