: Stock SVT cam markings?

Curious,

On the spare set of stock cams I have it has a grind # E193B, both intake and exhaust.

I bought a set of regrinds, well he thinks their regrinds, from Ian. The # on them is L193B.

Looking at them I can tell they have been worked over but I won't know how much 'til I fully measure them (just like I'd done with the stock SVT cams).
But just measuring with a caliper quickly they are ~4mm smaller than stock, but there is a spacer that fits on the valve stem, then the lifter goes on top of that adds ~1.94mm. No clue if they are a custom part or what. Never seen them before.

So what I'm thinking is that these might actually be VCT ZX2 cams, being their lift is less than the SVT.

Tom or Paul P, have any clues on this?

Looks like I'll be right. I found the 'shims' --> http://www.zxtuner.com/product.sc?productId=81 and looks like that's where the cams would have been purchased through too.

I am guessing they are Zetec , yes there were some regrinds done for the ZX2 cams back in the day and any time you do a regrind you have to cut some of the base circle which makes the cams smaller and you have to use a lash cap on the valve stem

SVT cams to ZX2 VCT cams look day and night Diff tho

Bill Gude also did this and in my opinion is it NOT wise to use them I have seen many of them come out (lash cap) and destroy the head

Thats my opinion anyway

That's kinda my feeling too. More parts = more problems/risks and possible clearance issues.

But I still have to degree them to figure out what version they are.
