ok sooo by break in period they mean dont drive it like u stole it... i get that... but more specificly... hard launches, power shifting, engine breaking, laying into her while already in gear, are all these bad? i jus picked her up tonight and only put 50 miles on her:( ovsly the first couple examples are bad... but if im already in gear am i good as long as i shift easy n match my rpms to the gear im going in? also how long would any of u guys recommend i take it easy for? ima man with little patience n a lead foot... any inputs appreciated!

normal driving for the first couple hundred miles (400-500miles, nothing above 3500 rpm) and then you can start mild down shifting, higher rpms (<5500) and more heavy throttle inputs until 900-1000 miles, then youre good to go! atleast thats how ive broken in the last two mustang clutches.

breaking in the clutch is just putting it through heat cycles and cleaning off all production chemicals and whatnot. You'll be fine with a redline shift. stg 3 clutch was made for WAAAAAYYYY more tq than your making any way.
the key is not to drive it on the highway the whole time. youll need shifting to break it in. And the only reason ive had to break in 2 clutches is because the input shaft seal on the t5 in the mustang blew 2 years later and spewed trans fluid all over the clutch (considering the t5 was original to the car with 215k miles and over 22 yrs old, not bad :])

its usually 500 miles. just drive normal. no launches, no clutch dumps, stuff like that. also avoid constant mph's like cruising at 70mph on the highway for a long period of time

I've always just done calm easy driving, gentle starts, gentle revmatched shifting, for 500 miles

I engine brake to get the disc to grab faster.
Clutch that's in my car now was seated in 10 miles. But it took about 100 to get all the oils and such to ware off.
It's a stock replacement Sach's unit, holding just fine to my power. 'Staged' clutches be damned.

FYI it's 400-500 miles for an organic clutch (stock) Your stage 3 I am guessing has some Kevlar? 600-800 with a Kevlar clutch.
If you slip a kevlar clutch too much you can overheat it and glaze it over and ruin it!
I suspect the redline shifts aren't the best idea but not nearly as bad as a hard launch with lots of clutch slip.
I'd say under 3500 rpm is really low. The SVTF isn't even in the powerband there. I wouldn't be redlining the thing, but I have broken in both my Spec Stage 2's at like 5500 rpms ish shifting. If you are revving high and quickly shifting between gears it's not nearly as bas as the launch. It's the slipping action thats wearing in the clutch, not the RPMs the engine is at. For a new clutch, slipping the clutch a lot at 3500 rpm can be much worse then quick shifts at 5000 or even 7000 rpm
