i just got my aem cai, havent even put it on yet, and Im sure some of you other guys or gals have them. Is a bypass valve something i should order right away and have any of you had problems with hydrolocking engines if you dont have them. I live in central ohio so we get about average rain. And also ive heard some people take them off in the winter, any particular reason?

Make a shield, save the money on the bypass valve. There really isn't a good place to mount it. You'd only be introducing turbulence and a potential leak point....for minimal security. Take a look at the possible mounting points and their elevations...you'll see what I mean.

and if you must get one aem makes them...but im sure they are over priced like everything they make

the shield idea i like and it will be cheaper cause the bypass valves are like 40$ on ebay. thanks for the input.
