Ok guys what i wanna do is take the engine i currently have (zetec with 135,000 miles and swap in the svt engine, but i want to keep the transmission i currently have (brand new automatic transmission at 125,000 miles). Now does the engine have to come from an automatic transmission (i have an automatic) or can it be from a manual svt. Once again i just want to swap the engine, not the transmission. Also will i have to replace the ecu? And the last question, will i hit close to the stock svt base horsepower of 170, or will i be close once an svt header is then installed.

youd need to replace the ECU

how much would the svt ecu run? Would that be all i would need. could i use the mounts and all the shit from my zetec?

They don't make auto SVT's. Your tranny won't work. If you need a new engine, just get a Zetec.

If you need a new engine, I'd just look into a new dang car. Anyway, like Lil_Red said, your tranny won't work with it. And he knows, he's from the best state.

i've never posted before so this probably won't mean much, but if you have the money to buy the SVT engine, i would buy the Zetec and put the rest into mods on the new engine if you were buying a crate engine from ford that would give you 1100 dollars for aftermarket parts. or look into a new car (a manual one)

Yep, there is no way your going to get that SVT engine to work with that Auto........I too know since I'm from good Ol WV as well..........just build the zetec up...........
