I also have toms tune. He is sometimes hard to get ahold of but once you have him writing you tunes and reading data logs he is very fast to do it and he does it very well

i not like my dealings long ago with other focus tuners. had others for my first two. then tom on this one. pricing is nice. also yes he can be hard to reach but once you do he is great. only reason hard to get to is cause he is a very very busy guy. but waitn 2/3 days for a reply to get great help. i think is worth it. he is very to the point as well. i got to meet him at FF11. Was the others there from other shops?

Tunes do not = more hp and torque. They make your your other mods on your car work better for you.

well then in that case i shouls wait a long while before i get a tune cause i dont have much dont if anything at all

^^ I wouldnt say that, if you go with toms tune, then its the first mod id do. He does free updates, and even if your engine is bone stock, it will make a pretty big difference in how it feels to drive.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but mods for the SVT arent generally that amazing. Ive been in full bolt-on SVTfs, and in the face of a single turbo or supercharger, they just arent that impressive. Nothing you do, besides going force induction is going to make a massive difference to your cars performance. Sure a fully built N/A SVT will walk on a stock one, but the price per hp ratio is pretty sad.

The best bang for the buck when it comes to how your car drives and feels is the tune. Hands down.

I would recommend the xcal2 over the predator, if you decide to go with tom. I have no complaints with mine other than the predator.

The tune smooths the power curve, vast improvement in 1st gear (very little bogging) unless the a/c is on, and sets the dual stage intake to short runner sooner.

Like I stated going with Tom is a great choice. I tried the fswerks tune on my svtf first because Tom was out of the Predator units. Ended up with a xcal3 (which I do like) and the car just never seemed right. I was told this is good as it gets and really wasn't all that happy.

I got a tune from Tom and loaded it on the xcal. It was like night and day difference. My car was having odd warm start issues and made it sound like a weedwacker. All of that was gone and going back and forth with Tom got everything perfect.

I respect everyone's opinions about what tune worked for them, but I back Tom's. That's just my 2 cents and it was easy working with him. Also, people have to be patient when doing a remote tune.

I have dyno sheets that show increase in HP and TQ when using Tom, I have this info on more than 10 cars- so i know that a tune will give you more. Yes cams and more compression will also give you more also and then a tune on those will give you even more. We have done this on zetec,SVT and Duratec engines. Tom is the only one we will ever use after having others fail, i am so glad we found him several years ago. We have been to his shop in NC and he has been to our track several times. Go with Tom.

I am a little curious. You have NOT done business with Tom, MAY have only spoken with him, but you have decided to recommend against him because you think his motives are- what? How can you form a viable opinion of someone, and speak against him, if you have no personal experience with him?

Well I do have one complaint about Tom. HE IS TO FAR AWAY FROM ME. LOL .

He told me to get a wideband on with my OBX header , then datalog info to send so he can get me my tune. But I think I will wait to get header on. Do it in Feb so once on I can go on a nice 9hr road trip to him. Have him do tune & dyno to really get my car set up.
