To my knowledge, Dan is the one who's car flies through the air, into the wall, and bursts into flames.
Crazy wreck. RIP.

That was insane. This is indeed a sad sad day for motor racing. Dan Wheldon we will miss you.

I just watched the video on yahoo. That was a horrible crash :(

Good Lord, that 2nd video of the in-car camera footage is just... wow. Scary. That would put me off ever wanting to race.

Crazy speeds on that track almost impossible to stop when something like that happens. Really sad.

sad day & bizzare given Wheldon's entry into the race... I wonder how much concern there was on behalf of the drivers on the state of the race, not just his 'dirty air' commentary. I heard Tagliani on interview say 'everything was wrong' or something to that degree, emotions were high though so...
I'm a fan of IndyCar & racing in general this is just a huge loss having accomplished so much and him being so young, not to mention his potential to drive in a ton of other series over time

I think it's in either the link I posted, or the first video.. the drivers were apparently worried because during quals they were hitting speeds of 225mph. Apparently they didn't feel safe going that fast.
So it sounds like there were some concerns..

My prayers are with his family. Sad day in Motor Sports. They should have limited the speeds.

How 'bout limiting the # of short timer's or the guy's that aren't full time driver's, from this last race? He did do a lot of work on the '12 car thou, I did hear earlier, that the new car's are going to be turbo V/6's. Like Earnhart died & NASCAR later did a lot of work on the soft wall's & car's & driver safety, but nothing on the catch fence's thou. At least Danica is going to a lot safer car=nascar. 1.5 track's are awesome for the driver's & fan's a like. My heart goes out to his family & freind's.
