Every time i get a reply in my e-mail to a post ive replied to i get like 15 e-mail notices that some one has responded to that tread.

Its a notice bommer bug?

I just go into my pages and cancel notification for posts.
When i started I was suprised at all the emails, and was like; WTF!
So i figured out how to stop them being sent.
I would think that emails are a giant bandwidth waste. But maybe some folks like them?
The problem is they are added automatically, instead of NOT.
It would be better if folks had to opt' in instead of opt' out.

I will some times jump in on a topic and forget till i get a reminder. Other times im waiting on a reply and check the e-mail waiting for a reply for help or something.

Im sure it is a bandwidth hog but when you get more then one that just makes it worse.

I believe Tom is also doing some maintenance so that may be your problem as well. certainly sounds like a bug, you should only get one. I have thread subscriptions disabled by default. If I do subscribe, I don't ask it to send me an email. I'm on here too often to miss something important, lol.

I threatened to throw my wife's iPhone down the toilet from all the notifications she receives when at home from Facebook. It doesn't bother her when she's out on the road because I deleted AT&T's wireless access point so she can only use Wi-Fi. We still have to pay for it, but that's another story of cellular provider abuse.

It upset me a bit that someone who spends like 1/4 of the woken day sitting in front of a screen full of Facebook stuff can't take 2 minutes to go into their preferences and remove all the notifications.
