I had a damaged fender so I decided to go the junkyard route for a repair. I managed to locate a fender already in my color. However, when I got it home, I realized that they had not marked it with grease pencil or crayon but a paint pen [:(]

I surfed around the net for a while and the best advice seemed to be carb cleaner. But, with carb cleaner there is still a risk to the auto paint.

Turns out the ultimate solution is krud kutter. It took some elbow grease but it removed the paint pen without touching the underlying paint at all. Impressive!

I swear the stuff was made by a wizard.

I would have tried Acetone.

I would have tried Acetone.

I thought that it would eat away the autobody paint as well as the junkyard paint

So far as I've read it doesn't as long as you wipe on and off quick. Detailers sometimes use it to get stubborn schmutz off.

Try light rubbing compound on it. That way u buff out the new fender also
