Super stoked right now...

picked up a BBK off road x pipe for my 02' mustang GT convertible the other night for only $100 in like new condition!

Getting it installed between the factory exhaust manifolds (headers) and stock catback tonight... Then in a few weeks getting some Flowmaster original 40's welded into the stock catback to complete my exhaust!!

P.S. on a side note I have some ball python eggs (Vanilla 100% het piebald)cookin in the incubator right now that will more than pay for my on3 turbo kit for my mustang...

Ya I'm pretty excited... I also just traded a snake for some weld on subframe connectors as well... Gotta stiffen her up a little bit!

Don't want her twisting like a twizzler during the launch when it comes time for boost!

You're gonna love the sound! I had the bbk x with flow's and 4" tips and it sounded perfect. On par with sound of the german v8's but louder. I had a steeda sri for my GT and the car drove perfect. My best time with that set up was a 13.886 at 103.1 mph. You'll be a few tenths slower with the vert but who cares lol.
Definitely get those subframe connectors asap if you plan to drive hard. Those cars have a very weak frame and twist easy. Get a strut tower brace for good measure as well.

Ya i definitely love the sound for sure! Got everything installed and right now it sounds killer even with the stock mufflers! Going for some flowmaster super 44's in a bit maybe in the next few weeks and then I'll be getting ready to swap out the 3.23 stock gearing for some 3.73's or maybe even 4.10's.

Why do Mustangs always sound so much better than LSx engines with comparable modified exhaust? Guhhhh... I have an SLP LMI (that was then converted to LMII because I hated the sound so much) and I've been thinking about having a shop replace the X-pipe with custom straight pipes, because the X-pipe makes it sound like ass.

The car sounded great before, just too quiet. I learned too late that Pontiac engineers spent a lot of time trying to make the exhaust sound like an old school muscle car. Now it doesn't rumble, it just drones flatly. Oh well.

^^ because they had to find SOMETHING that was better than the LS series on em. [hihi]

kidding.... but it sounded funny.

If you're a stick shift go 3.73, if you're and auto get the 4.10s. Be prepared to roll at some high rpm on the highway with 4.10s. Get some long tubes if budget and state law allow.

just to warn ya like previously posted get ready for high rpm's and if your going to drag it at all stay will the 3.73's unless your going to buy some tall tires to race with. i know from experience me and my dad put 4.10's in our 88 cus everyone said they are good for the track then we get to the track and everyone there said the opposite because its harder to get traction and you will have to use all your gears unless you pin it every time. we actually put 3.73 in the car and dropped out time quite a bit and it feels to pull alot harder to.
