Well i got my car back today after my dad ripped my shifter cable out. All i have to say is wow. This shifter is Sweet. I now understand why everyone has been saying it was a must do mod. The customer service at my dealer ship wasnt bad either. The only complaints i have are that the car came back with a small rattle on the inside and i kind of ripped the leather on my shift knob putting it back on. Other than that i am happy now.
PS: I am looking for a stock or any shift knob now [thumb] [;)]

I'd love to get a STS, but I just spent LOTS of $$$ on my "free" Dell. Perhaps when I get money for mods from my F-150.

Yes, we are talking about puting in a short shifter. The story is that the cable wouldnt snap in on mine (too much grease in the link) and my dad decided to see if he could tell what was wrong and ended up breaking the cable. And well, there you go.

^ummmm....ok.
I wouldn't let him touch my car ever again if he managed to break something during a simple install such as a short shifter.
Back to the shift knob, did the dealer mess it up? if so, they owe you a new one. If you messed it up, well....that sucks.

No they didnt mess it up. I actually saved some money since i took out the center piece and put it back together. Well that is until i went to twist the knob back on and the seems just ripped. I was pissed. But whatever. I will be glad when this whole thing is fixed and i can stop thinking about it.
PS: Yeah i am not letting my dad touch the car anymore. [thumb]

if that' the case, claim it under warranty! (take it to a different dealer, though...not the one that knows you were messing with your shifter)
That's a manufacturing defect and should be replaced.
