I haven't put a CD in a car stereo for years. It's all iPod now. How about the rest of you? Can you answer the poll with what you mostly listen too even if you switch around now and then.

I like to listen to the musical tune of 4 cylinders playing to my right foot. If i am listening to anything else its the radio, but i rarely use that.

I don't think a poll can be modified once it's posted. Just choose iPod for USB.

How did you sell the Sirius? You had one of the separate units that plugs into the existing head unit?

I use them all so just to be annoyingly thorough:
50% - iPod Nano
20% - I have a huge CD collection that I don't want to load
15% - Sirrus (until the 6 months runs out...$15/mo not worth it for number of hours)
15% - FM Radio

I'm enjoying Sirius but not enough to justify the costs when the trial period runs out. Don't think I'll sign up but I'll decide then.

I don't even own an iPod (actually I don't own a single Apple product) or similar storage/player.

I use an iPod as well - I prefer it over the radio since I make myself playlists based on mood or atmosphere (i.e. Driving playlist). I update them frequently so I'm always listening to good music. The radio has too many commercials and they play the same songs over and over.

I have been listening to Sirius 95% of the time for the last five years. Also am overly impressed with their service.
BUT..
After some audio upgrades, I am beginning to dislike their bitrate. They have their own type of VBR. Preliminary research is indicating that XM has a faster bitrate on their music channels.

I have these playlists:
Favorites
Party Mix
Workout
Sad

For some reason I like sad songs like Blue Rodeo's "Dark Angel".

Sniper Focus

USB

I switch to HD radio to catch up on new music also.

I got a Sirius adapter for my Pioneer radio for super cheap at the liquidation sale at the store I used to work at. I'll install it and finally try satellite radio out.

MP3 CD's, can fit a decent amount of music on them and they cost like a nickel. So if anything happens to them, oh well. Also will listen to the radio, I like the flipping of stations and being surprised by what i hear.

Yeah, it's a vinyl over MDF (and routed)...the clear acrylic was custom CNC machined.

Most of the time, its FM radio, just for variety (although sometimes I question that when I hear the same damn song everyday. Current offender, Help is on the way. Gag)

In the Focus, stored music are MP3s via CD
In the Fusion, stored music are MP3s via SD

I'm surprised at how many are using USB or a memory card. My car doesn't have any choice but a multi-disc CD player. The van has a generic minijack for hooking up an iPod so I use that in the van. I can't stand radio, I never listen to the radio except when getting ready for work in the morning.

TitaniumFred
08-20-2011, 07:06 AM
I would listen to radio all the time if not for the commercials. I like the personalities of the hosts, the variety, the HD programming and the local news.

RDJTX
08-20-2011, 08:22 AM
Depends on which car I am in. I have never had a car with a USB or IPOD connection and won't until I pick up my focus. that being said -

95 - CD or radio
04 - blower whine
'12- will likely be IPOD more than anything else
