: truck tire guys
Master-Baits 08-02-2011, 01:29 PM Got a few questions. I know this isn't the best place to ask but I'm not a big fan of many of the f-150 forums. I'm going to be buying 32" all terrains for my 09 f-150 with new wheels as a package. Supposedly I could get away with 33" without trimming or lifting but I think I'll stick to 32. I'm thinking either 18" or 20" black wheels. I'm having a tough time figuring out which package to go with, because apparently finding tires I want for the size wheel I want is tough? Anyone have any suggestions?
I have a aset of 33" BFG AT on my Bronco and love them. haven't really done any serious off roading with them yet though, but they have held up great so far through everything. even 10" of snow last year. As far as your truck goes I would personally go with 18's. get some more meat on the tires then for better off road capability and just looks better in my opinion. I've also heard good things about the general grabber at2 tires. similar tread pattern as the bfg and cost a little less.
the only thing i would recommend is get a tire size that has options. worst thing in the world is to have a blow out somewhere and noone around carries a replacement (happened to me a couple months ago on my focus). really sux having to search for something to work especially if you are traveling

Yeah I like the BFG at's. I'm just having a hard time finding a package where I can get wheels I like with the size tire I want.
Master-Baits 08-02-2011, 01:53 PM for instance... I like the wheels but I cannot figure out for the life of me how to package it with 32" tires. It allows me to pick the OEM sizes, and custom but I can never figure out the "custom" size I need to put in the get 32" choices to pop up.
Master-Baits 08-02-2011, 01:55 PM and I like these even better http://www.wheelsnext.com/wheels-tires-packages/MKW-M19-Black%20Flat.html
but again... They only give me choices in 265 and 275 and I want to go bigger than that. Any ideas?
hat site are you using? generally FT sizes are only used on 15 or 16.5" wheels. bigger than that they go to metric sizes. need to figure out in a metric size what's equal to the 32 and put that in. worst case call them up and tell them what you want and see what they can put together.
Master-Baits 08-02-2011, 01:56 PM anyone know what 275/65/18 is equivalent to when talking inches?

Didn't know that... thanks!

that actually is about equal to a 32x11/18

Yeah I just figured that out myself... thanks for the help brother.
now I gotta find a package for like $1600 to my door hopefully [bash]
Missourileo 08-02-2011, 04:25 PM I'm running 32 11.5/15 Yokohama Geolander ATs and love them. Been through some pretty rough stuff with them. I had the Geolander MTs, but they were noisy and wore quick, seriously unstoppable off road though. The ATs haven't let me down so far.
ajmorell 08-02-2011, 05:42 PM BFG A/Ts are tough to beat, good all-weather traction and great wear characteristics. If you want something more aggressive the Toyo MTs are hard to beat for a daily-driven vehicle...they're supposed to wear really well.
Master-Baits 08-02-2011, 06:23 PM I'm think I'm going with Toyo AT's ... if not I'll opt for the BFG's
