looking to eventually get toms stage 1 kit or jrsc. Wondering if this will mess up the tranny and whether I needed to invest in some upgrades in the tranny department.

Ran a search for this topic, could only find two threads regarding the trannies of auto's with a turbo.

i don't think it'll mess up the tranny since many cars on the market are already turbocharged, and some supercharged, BUT those are usually factory kits, and not top of the line stuff like tom's.

I would imagine that it would depend entirely upon the level of power we are talking about. If you are only running mild levels of boost, you would probably be okay, but you would reap the benefits more if you had a new torque converter and valve body, and DEFINITELY a new chip w/new shift points.

Of course, if you have the tranny pulled to put a new torque converter on, and if you have already sunk that much money into the car, it would make sense to put a Lentech or some such in there at the same time.
