: Bought a mustang!!!
DJslurp1200 07-04-2011, 09:04 AM okay... so....
i'll probably get mixed feedback on this one but I was going to turbo my car... but instead... I found a creampuff 2002 mustang gt premium convertible that couldn't be more perfect with only 50k miles and only $10k... did all the paperwork credit wise yesterday and apparently there was a bank open today that would give me the apr that I wanted so I'm on my way to go trade the "snake mobile" in for it right now...
I'll still be on the focus forum because you guys are all my buddy's... Don't really even have any real drive to even become a member on the mustang forums... so... you guys will have to deal with the "I just washed my car" threads for the first few months until the initial excitement wears away lol..
Mr.Bergner 07-04-2011, 10:27 AM Haha, sounds good dude. Congrats on the purchase and post up some pics when you get her.
mikebontoft 07-04-2011, 10:36 AM I swear FF has the highest rate of member retainment after they get rid of their focus :)

save_HUTCH 07-04-2011, 11:16 AM Congrats, don't be ashamed. I know we all want a v8 rear wheel drive car at some point, nothing is more fun to drive.
2002greenzx3 07-04-2011, 12:59 PM congrats man. post some pics up when you get it
BigFuzzyArchon 07-04-2011, 01:09 PM I got rid of my 00 Mustang GT Convertible with 75k miles for my new 2012 Focus and hardly miss the 100hp difference. Everything about the focus is better but I did have a good time in the mustang, got a few speeding tickets. One was for 105 in a 65 when I was really doing 120+ and I got the ticket dropped with no court fees after giving it to ticket lawyer. Good times :)

Fixed. Thanks, but I'll take my RWD 4cyl over early 00' Mustang [hihi]

I love the smoked headlights combined with the mach1 grill & lip... loving the car and couldn't be any happier with my decision!
russmistro 07-04-2011, 10:00 PM You know what the first order of business is. LOW.
DJslurp1200 07-05-2011, 12:34 AM yup, 1"1/2 or 2 should be good all the way around...
save_HUTCH 07-05-2011, 01:25 AM SLP is calling your name so is vortec and a t-56.......

azdamay 07-05-2011, 01:35 AM You know what the first order of business is. LOW.
Normally all this attention to ride height doesn't matter to me, but those Mustangs do ride really high!
Nice find on the car, it does indeed seem to be very well-kept. Stay out of trouble. [:D]
TitaniumFred 07-05-2011, 08:34 AM That's one nice looking car. You sure it's not brand new??? lol
LouBomb 07-05-2011, 06:51 PM looks very nice mane! congrats! Im more of a F-body kinda guy but this one is nice...
2002greenzx3 07-05-2011, 07:47 PM very nice man, ive always been a fan of that body style. especially the 03-04 cobra [race]
Master-Baits 07-06-2011, 12:09 AM Looks clean, nice buy.
djo90 07-06-2011, 12:09 PM haha tint and lower. Have fun with it man
brown7 07-06-2011, 12:28 PM YOu needs the H&R SS or whatever theyre called and new struts/shocks ;)
atleast someone has already replaced your front grill with the mach1 grill/chin spoiler.
The other fun thing to do is get wider rear rims to go from an 8in to 10.5 to fill in the fender. but if you like 100$ tires@ 8in i would stay away from the 10.5 :)
p.s. the t-56 6 speed is over-rated. the 6th is the same as our 5th.
If you live in a schitty area with lots of large speed bumps, high crests on driveways etc, stay away from lowering.
NotAnSES 07-06-2011, 12:50 PM Looks great! Congrats!
RyanV 07-06-2011, 12:50 PM I put the Eibach Pro Kit on my sisters 00 GT Vert. Has a nice stance and not too low. She also has the front chin spoiler and its real close to alot of parking curbs so be careful. But speed bumps arent really a problem. At the same time I added the BBK strut tower brace. That really stiffened up the convertibles chassis. These 2 mods totally transformed the cars handling. Its a blast to drive now. We kept the stock shocks and struts for now because she only had about 50k miles also when we did the swap. That was a couple years ago and they are still working great.
DJslurp1200 07-06-2011, 06:04 PM Thanks to everyone who posted for the kind words.
I thought maybe it had an exhaust but after looking underneath the car it's all stock under there. Sounds great but... 4.6's do! haha =)
In this particular order I'm thinkin short throw shifter, off-road xpipe w/flowmasters and then front strut brace and springs.
Best thing is... alot more people are selling parts for 99-04 mustangs than Focus's so parts and upgrades are ALOT easier to find!
