I tried searching a thread for this, but could not find any. My doorhandles are pretty hard to pull open now and I was wondering if there was some kind of grease or lube to put in there to make it easier to open. All of my friends have to pull pretty hard to get the doors open, and they always say it seems like its locked. I dont want them to pull so hard it breaks it, so any kind of lubrication for door handles? Thanks!

i have had the same problem all i do is use some wd-40 and spray the key hole and the latch mechanism, and it usually keeps the doors opening easily.

I want to say i read a thread that said wd40 was bad for the tough to open door handels?

I'll have to see if i can find the post and the reasons, think a thicker lube was suggested

I've never solved this problem. I just tell people "Try to break it"

I find it helpful to pull the door handles a specific way. Instead of grabbing towards the middle of the handle, grab towards the side, the side more towards the rear of the car. If I pull my passenger side handle more towards the front, it never opens.

I had the same issue on my 07, I got a spray can of white lithium grease and sprayed that behind the handle and now it opens effortlessly. Cheap fix too at only about 6 bucks. It can make a mess though so use the straw adapter and only spray a little on the hinge on the handle.

Where do I pick up a can of that?

I use Gunk Liquid Wrench, its a water based Teflon spray, and I hit the latches, pull the door handle out and spray the top and bottom. Now doors open like jelly.

any auto parts store will have it, often called white grease or lithium grease.

+1 for the white lithium grease. Little more expensive, but will do the job great. Most locksmiths use it regularly.

Had the same thing several years ago on the '05 ST. I asked the dealer about it and they sprayed some kind of lubricant behind the handle and it has been fine ever since.
