Hi, I'm new to the site and just order a new 2012 focus se sedan. I drive a gas guzzling v8 jeep and decided it was time to move on to a gas saving car. I researched all the new compact cars (civic, elantra, mazda3, cruze) and realized that the new 2012 focus was the best car for the money. The car I just order today from capital ford in Raleigh, NC is a sterling gray se sedan with the 201A rapid spec convenience package, sport package with the standard sport 16" alloys, interior protection plan, and a moonroof. This is my first time buying a car and I think I made a good decision. Does anyone know or have experience ordering a new car from ford? How long did it take to arrive at you're dealer? And was the dealer able to provide you with build date info. ext.? Thanks and look forward to learning more about focus's from everyone involved with the site.

Read through the WHOLE 'Post For 2012 When You Get a Vin#' thread. You will learn quite a bit about what everyone is or has been going through during the entire process of ordering a car. I ordered from Classic in Smithfield, and so far so good. Did Capital discuss allocation to you. Their allotted allocation right now along with your priority # are your biggest concerns through to your build date. It took exactly 25 days from order (05/02) to being built (05/27). Now I'm just waiting for delivery. I have an ETA of 06/09, but those change quite often. Good luck and welcome to the board! [welcome]

Final price still to be negotiated but right now at the least getting X-Plan pricing which is 19581.82. Hope to get it around 18500, either way I feel like I'm getting a lot of car for the money. The wait is going to be brutal!

I ordered my car on April 13th, it was built May 23rd, and my ETA is June 5th.

X-plan probably the best deal Capital would give and it is a good deal. Don't forget the $275 admin and $100 doc fee, though. Still, factory invoice is ~$19300, so that's only about $600-$700 over invoice, including all your fees. There is currently a $500 rebate if you use Ford Motor Credit, and there is also a brochure rebate good for $750 if you can get it. Just request a brochure, and say you're buying in 0-30 days, and you MAY get the brochure with the rebate. Not everyone gets it, but most seem to.

Good to hear from someone with local knowledge, I am actually not being charged any admin or doc fees. I have heard about the $500 rebate for using Ford Motor Credit and plan on taking advantage of that. Now the brochure $750 rebate, does it have an expiration date considering I will not be buying the car until mid-late July (hopefully)? I also have my fingers crossed that maybe a sweet financing deal or rebate will be released for July, wishful thinking I know but you never know. Being a first time buyer I am open to an suggestions or advice on the buying process, and any comments/thoughts on my choice of model, color, ext. I also forgot to mention that the car I ordered is a manual [hihi].

I used Truecar, and Capital doesn't participate, so that's why I went with the one in Smithfield. Being in Chapel Hill, it's not exactly close but it was the closest participating dealer that gave me a price similar to x-plan. That's a great deal you're getting, though, since they're not charging you the admin fee.

As for the brochure as long as you give them your email address and let them send you stuff, you'll get an email in a few days and then the offer will be good for 60 days from that. For example I received the email on 05/24, and my expiration is 07/23. By the time the brochure arrives though, it probably is only 30 days left. If you order the brochure now, you'd be good until the first part of August, assuming you get it, and probably would. Anyway good luck, it's actually a pretty fun wait, and you'll learn a lot before it arrives.

Good choice! We ordered a pretty similar Focus... 5 speed FTW!

*edit*
We also are replacing a gas guzzling V8 Explorer, and comparison shopped the same cars.
