That cb probably has alot more features then mine, and I have a small uniden 520xl in my jeep. And as for the antenna its supped to be as close to 108 inches as possible for max effectivesness. CB freuency is around 27 mhz, so the lower the frequency the longer the antenna. Higher frequency the smaller the antenna. Not much has changed in cb radio in the past decade I belive. The new cobra 29 has bluetooth and weather band with is neat. I wouldnt be surprised if that guy was running an amp (linear amplifier) seeing from where you are located. On a good day I can listen to skip from most of the southern states and occasional other countrys as well.

lol yeah but those whip antenna's are usually tied down to the other end of truck though, arent they?
